They are matriarchal. Is a queen -- like the one in Resurrection -- a manifestation of Tiamat? And there's a Satanic connection -- Satanists love H.R. Giger who designed the xenomorphs and who also produced all kinds of Baphomets and occult imagery. Look up his Necronomicon.
