Rest in the majestic and hope-filled words of Psalm 72, read from the King James Version and accompanied by the gentle sound of ocean waves.

Psalm 72 is a royal Psalm filled with prayers for righteous judgment, peace, compassion, and blessing. It describes a ruler who defends the poor, delivers the needy, judges with righteousness, and brings peace to the people.

Its vision reaches far beyond one kingdom. The Psalm speaks of dominion extending from sea to sea, of kings bringing gifts, and of all nations being blessed. Again and again, it points toward a reign marked not merely by power, but by justice, mercy, and care for those who have no helper.

In this episode of Psalms and Tides, the steady rhythm of the sea creates a peaceful space for Scripture, worship, prayer, reflection, and rest. As you listen, may Psalm 72 lift your thoughts toward the righteousness of God, His compassion for the vulnerable, and the hope of a world filled with His glory.

Whether you are settling down for sleep, praying for peace and justice, or simply resting in the promises of God’s Word, may this gentle reading lead your heart into hope, worship, and quiet confidence.
