Monday’s Spoon Feed:

In this single-center study, advanced imaging utilization increased significantly following the deployment of a Provider-in-Triage (PIT) model. In addition, the rate of negative CT scans in patients with abdominal pain was higher in PIT-exposed patients.

Tuesday’s Spoon Feed:

In this retrospective study, children with reliable physical exam and normal plain T- or L-spine x-rays had 1 missed injury out of 126 children, and 100% had no operative injury.

A clinical decision support alert shortened the time to stress-dose hydrocortisone administration for patients with known adrenal insufficiency in the emergency department.
