Day 12 - Choosing E.A.S.Y Goals - Y

Are you setting goals and resolutions this year?

If so these episodes are for you.

I present a strategy to test your commitment and motivation to your goal using E.A.S.Y

Today it's Y

Are you ready to know if you'll follow through with your promises to yourself?

Community and Connection

My belief is that we win when we are compassionate, connecting and communicating unconditionally. When we are building a community of like-minded souls supporting each other through the dark days.

Be kind to those around you. They are living their own version of reality. If you want to be in conflict ensure it's aimed in the right direction. Be the example, by rejecting separation and embracing all, no matter where they are on their journey. Be the light, the example others want to follow.

I have created a community and resource pages on the Choosing Happy website at www.choosinghappy.co.uk - all will be available on day 6 - This was an intuitive urge to do this, to step up in my own way.

Speaker:

Hello and welcome to the choosing happy podcast.

Speaker:

This is day four of the easy goals.

Speaker:

And where on Y today?

Speaker:

What is important about your goals?

Speaker:

Why are they important?

Speaker:

We'll go into this and so much more.

Speaker:

In today's podcast.

Speaker:

First of all, if you like this podcast, please do share it.

Speaker:

Please subscribe it would be brilliant if you could leave

Speaker:

me a review every little helps.

Speaker:

I'm headmasters and this is the choosing happy podcast.

Speaker:

Hello, and welcome to why the easy goals.

Speaker:

I've given myself a little bit poetic license with why.

Speaker:

The first one is the yarn test.

Speaker:

When you look at your goal on a scale of zero to 10, where

Speaker:

zero is an absolute yawn.

Speaker:

And 10 is absolutely brilliant, excited, motivated.

Speaker:

Where are you on that scale?

Speaker:

If you check in.

Speaker:

As you read your goal, where are you on that scale?

Speaker:

The next Y is yes.

Speaker:

Are you willing to say yes to the goal?

Speaker:

Yes, you can do it.

Speaker:

Yes, you want to move forward and take action.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

To asking.

Speaker:

And accepting help.

Speaker:

Yes to receiving.

Speaker:

Yes to doing what it takes.

Speaker:

the third, why is you?

Speaker:

, we come back to identity around the goal.

Speaker:

Who are you?

Speaker:

When you're achieving this goal, who are you?

Speaker:

At the end of the goal, what are the.

Speaker:

Characteristics that you can take on in order to achieve the skull.

Speaker:

What are the.

Speaker:

Perspectives and mind shifts.

Speaker:

That will be required in order.

Speaker:

To complete the skull.

Speaker:

And are you willing to take responsibility for you completely

Speaker:

and for the completion of this goal?

Speaker:

Absolutely yours completely.

Speaker:

Are you willing to accept them?

Speaker:

No, one's going to rescue you.

Speaker:

And that what you're doing to achieve this goal is within your control.

Speaker:

The fourth is yearn and that's pretty similar to the Yon test.

Speaker:

Are you yearning to achieve it enough to get out of bed every morning?

Speaker:

Our yearning to take the next step.

Speaker:

Are you eager to see it unfold?

Speaker:

Are you eager to see the positive impact?

Speaker:

Are you yearning for what this goal will give you and those around you.

Speaker:

This is where I use the poetic license.

Speaker:

Your Y.

Speaker:

Is it important enough to you?

Speaker:

What is the real, why behind the goal?

Speaker:

Why is this important?

Speaker:

And then why is that important?

Speaker:

And then why is that important to you really drill down to the true why.

Speaker:

And these whys are also your values.

Speaker:

And it's a great way to check that your goal is in align with your

Speaker:

values and with what you truly want.

Speaker:

The sixth.

Speaker:

Why is yesterday?

Speaker:

Have you released?

Speaker:

All of the stories that might stop you.

Speaker:

All of yesterday's stories.

Speaker:

Have you released yesterday's beliefs about whether you can achieve the goal?

Speaker:

Is there anything you need to complete on before you can actively.

Speaker:

Pursue this goal.

Speaker:

Is there anything you need to clear up and you relationships or arguments?

Speaker:

Is there anything that's stopping you?

Speaker:

That you could clear up.

Speaker:

And the last two.

Speaker:

Probably the most important of all of the goals, but the not so obvious.

Speaker:

You've got this.

Speaker:

Are you willing to follow through?

Speaker:

Are you willing to say to yourself every time you want to give up?

Speaker:

You've got this.

Speaker:

And follow through.

Speaker:

Following through is so very important.

Speaker:

It's the new way we get to the end.

Speaker:

And following through when things are going wrong is probably one

Speaker:

of the toughest things to do.

Speaker:

It's easy to give up.

Speaker:

When we think we haven't got enough traction.

Speaker:

When we think things aren't going well.

Speaker:

Sometimes we can give up just before we have the great success that we're after.

Speaker:

you've got this follow through.

Speaker:

The final one is yonder.

Speaker:

To go beyond.

Speaker:

And I found this.

Speaker:

Uh, truly.

Speaker:

Mind shifting one for me.

Speaker:

What I found in the past with my goals as I could achieve them.

Speaker:

But pretty soon after something would happen.

Speaker:

Too.

Speaker:

Negates the goal.

Speaker:

What I'd achieved would be somehow taken away.

Speaker:

And so I lost my momentum around setting goals.

Speaker:

About going for what I want it.

Speaker:

And what I realized was when I was doing the visualization.

Speaker:

Often I was doing the, you know, the present tense as if it's completed.

Speaker:

I could get there.

Speaker:

With all of that knowledge and, and all of those skills.

Speaker:

But what I wasn't doing is visualizing beyond the goal.

Speaker:

So what would happen in the weeks following the achievement of the goal?

Speaker:

How would I maintain the goal going forward?

Speaker:

And can I visualize that it's maintainable.

Speaker:

And can I visualize that?

Speaker:

It's continues easily.

Speaker:

Can I continue to succeed?

Speaker:

Can I continue to see all the good things that unfold.

Speaker:

After I've achieved that goal.

Speaker:

And on the way to the next goal.

Speaker:

I think that one is, well for me, it was so important.

Speaker:

And maybe it'll help you as well.

Speaker:

So in summary, you've got the yarn test.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

You.

Speaker:

Yan.

Speaker:

Then your Y.

Speaker:

Yesterday.

Speaker:

You've got this and younger going beyond.

Speaker:

I hope this has been valuable to you.

Speaker:

If it has, please do share.

Speaker:

I hope the goals, exercise the checking in and testing your goals is valuable

Speaker:

Tomorrow I'll be publishing an interview.

Speaker:

I did with Sue Knight.

Speaker:

Who's the author of NLP at work and is a master trainer of NLP and has absolutely.

Speaker:

Magical take on neuro-linguistic programming.

Speaker:

And I hope you enjoy that.

Speaker:

I know I really enjoyed the interview.

Speaker:

Thank you again for listening.

Speaker:

Please.

Speaker:

Do share if this is a value to someone else.

Speaker:

Please subscribe.

Speaker:

And please leave a review.

Speaker:

I'm Heather masters, and this is the choosing happy podcast.
