Transcripts

Speaker:

My name is Laura Barr.

Speaker:

I am the owner and founder of emerging educational consulting.

Speaker:

Our company provides one to one mentorship for parents and students

Speaker:

from the beginning to end of the college application process.

Speaker:

When I talk about what I do, I talk about I wake up every day to.

Speaker:

Raise good humans.

Speaker:

And the way I think we raise good humans best is with education and information.

Speaker:

So I could not be more delighted today to introduce Anna Hannah Stotland,

Speaker:

who is this unbelievable educational consultant who works primarily with

Speaker:

students who are in crisis management.

Speaker:

I have stalked her at every professional conference that I have attended,

Speaker:

so I am going to let her talk.

Speaker:

I'm going to have her introduce herself, and then I'm going to start just pounding

Speaker:

some questions so that we can be informed.

Speaker:

So let's just go.

Speaker:

Hi, thanks so much for having me.

Speaker:

I'm Hannah Scotland and I've been doing this crisis management work for 24

Speaker:

years and I got into this field because I flunked out of high school, got a

Speaker:

GED, had a lot of problems, both with mental illness and with some misplaced,

Speaker:

poorly thought through rebellion.

Speaker:

I thought I was like a conscientious objector to high school.

Speaker:

I thought it was like civil disobedience to refuse to do my homework.

Speaker:

So I got a GED.

Speaker:

I worked for a couple of years, eventually decided to try to go to

Speaker:

college and found a small college that was willing to give me a chance.

Speaker:

After two years making A's there, I got in as a transfer to Harvard,

Speaker:

Stanford and Penn and transferred to Harvard for the fall of my junior year.

Speaker:

And having gone through the admissions process three times in a row, I had

Speaker:

become very interested in admissions.

Speaker:

So I went and became a student worker at the admissions office that summer.

Speaker:

And when you're giving tours, there's a spot in the script where you say,

Speaker:

and this is what brought me to Harvard.

Speaker:

And I would give a short version of, of that story.

Speaker:

And people were very surprised, not expecting to hear this

Speaker:

from their Harvard tour guide.

Speaker:

And so, after every tour, some family would take me aside and

Speaker:

say, you have to talk to my nephew.

Speaker:

He just got out of rehab and he wants to apply to college.

Speaker:

Can you help us?

Speaker:

So I stayed at Harvard for law school and had a six year legal career, but I

Speaker:

was always, had a side hustle helping these families that came to me, um,

Speaker:

dropped out, kicked out, flunked out.

Speaker:

I see mental illness.

Speaker:

I see substance abuse, lots of academic misconduct, especially

Speaker:

in the last few years.

Speaker:

Seeing more and more, Kids in trouble with misuse of social media.

Speaker:

I see kids who've gotten in trouble in, in high school, in

Speaker:

college and even in grad school.

Speaker:

So my work is helping them figure out, , how to recover academically, right?

Speaker:

There's usually folks, above my level of expertise.

Speaker:

I'm working on the education side to try and get, get them back on track

Speaker:

and, and especially teach them how to talk about whatever has gone wrong.

Speaker:

And what I love about some of the work you do is that one of your core beliefs

Speaker:

really is like, even when we screw up, even when we struggle with mental

Speaker:

health, even when we make really bad mistakes, everybody has a right to an

Speaker:

education and a right to due process.

Speaker:

I think one of the things that I am most interested in bringing

Speaker:

to light is , issues around title nine on college campuses.

Speaker:

And really thinking about this cohort of students that I'm getting ready to send.

Speaker:

It's like one of the things I always say to parents is listen, your

Speaker:

students are going to go to college.

Speaker:

I'm not really worried about that.

Speaker:

I don't work with in crisis management as much, right?

Speaker:

So my, my cohort is like, we're going to go to college, but I want

Speaker:

you to do well when you get there.

Speaker:

And I think there is such.

Speaker:

stigma around these kinds of conversations about consent, sex

Speaker:

education, drugs and alcohol.

Speaker:

I think innately as parents, we're kind of wired to be

Speaker:

like, our kids are pretty good.

Speaker:

They're not going to screw up.

Speaker:

But as you and I know, cause we have worked together in some

situations where really https:

otter.

situations where really https:

ai

situations where really https:

What do you want these parents who are here today with us and this

situations where really https:

video will eventually go viral?

situations where really https:

Sure.

situations where really https:

What do you want them to know?

situations where really https:

Like, what do you want them to know right away?

situations where really https:

Well, at first I want to make a statement about that I, I think I need to

situations where really https:

approach this with a lot of humility.

situations where really https:

if I knew how to speak to teenagers in a way that caused them to obey the advice I

situations where really https:

gave them, I'd be a gazillionaire, right?

situations where really https:

They're, they're just telling them don't do X.

situations where really https:

Remember to do Y or scared straight.

situations where really https:

If you do Z, this terrible thing is going to happen to you.

situations where really https:

I do want them to have that information.

situations where really https:

But I, I don't want to come across as though I think I have discovered

situations where really https:

the secret to get the kids to listen.

situations where really https:

And if you just Talk to them my way, then I'm going to fix all the problems.

situations where really https:

That being said, there is a lot of, information out there that,

situations where really https:

parents should know and that they should talk to their kids about.

situations where really https:

And one of those is, it may be incredibly obvious to you, the parent, that if

situations where really https:

the, If your student called you and said, I've been accused of cheating.

situations where really https:

I've been sexually assaulted when I was completely drunk.

situations where really https:

I've been accused of sexual misconduct.

situations where really https:

I've been arrested, any of those things.

situations where really https:

You the parent, you know, it's so obvious to you that you would still love and

situations where really https:

stand by your student and that even if you felt some disappointment or sadness

situations where really https:

about bad choices they had made, that would be enormously outweighed by your

situations where really https:

instinct to help and protect them.

situations where really https:

And tell them that experience.

situations where really https:

If you are arrested, if you are accused of some terrible misconduct, if you've done

situations where really https:

something that you're ashamed to tell me about because you fear my disappointment,

situations where really https:

please tell me I want to help you.

situations where really https:

And I promise that whatever feelings I have about it are going to be.

situations where really https:

My 50th priority because one through 49 is gonna be helping you with this crisis.

situations where really https:

So I see many, many students who are, who are accused of, of academic or

situations where really https:

behavioral misconduct, who are trying to go through a discipline process

situations where really https:

themselves thinking, I don't wanna tell mom and dad, I'm just gonna tell the

situations where really https:

truth and everything is gonna work out.

situations where really https:

Then they get suspended or expelled.

situations where really https:

Now you have to tell mom and dad and frequently they say, or if you get

situations where really https:

some help from me or from a lawyer, this, this was a winnable case.

situations where really https:

If we had been able to advise you.

situations where really https:

And yes, in some senses at 18, 19, 20, in some senses, you're an adult,

situations where really https:

but these college disciplinary proceedings are very serious, um, can

situations where really https:

really affect the rest of your life.

situations where really https:

And it, it makes a lot of sense unless you fear.

situations where really https:

You know, if you have a reasonable fear of that, your parents are

situations where really https:

going to beat you up, right?

situations where really https:

Of course, students need to use their judgment about that.

situations where really https:

But if you just, I want parents who know that they would never let anything get

situations where really https:

in the way of supporting their student.

situations where really https:

Tell your student explicitly and you may get a lot of eye

situations where really https:

rolls, but behind the eye rolls.

situations where really https:

There's a good chance they're hearing you.

situations where really https:

So that is the number one thing I would, I would tell parents to tell their kids.

situations where really https:

That's amazing.

situations where really https:

And actually, I haven't heard you say that before.

situations where really https:

So I love that.

situations where really https:

So it's like the advice that I would say on my launch checklist would

situations where really https:

be, before you go to college, almost just say that, say, there are some

situations where really https:

sticky situations that could come up.

situations where really https:

Please know if they do, please.

situations where really https:

Communicate with me because things mitigated before kind of it gets

situations where really https:

worse so that you talk to the police.

situations where really https:

Yes, please tell a trusted adult before you talk to the police

situations where really https:

and that includes campus cops.

situations where really https:

Okay, that's really helpful.

situations where really https:

, one of the things I love and all the, my stalking of you that you talk about

situations where really https:

is your courage around talking about the gray, like there is no black and

situations where really https:

white, there's gray and especially around sexual misconduct, sexual misconduct with

situations where really https:

drugs and alcohol on college campuses.

situations where really https:

, I've never heard anybody have the courage to speak about it the way that you do.

situations where really https:

So I'm not exactly sure what I'm asking, but I'm wondering if you have a moment to

situations where really https:

just kind of do your thing around these things can happen, there's not black and

situations where really https:

white, there's gray, alcohol involved, like however you say that so beautifully.

situations where really https:

Sure.

situations where really https:

And there are black and white cases.

situations where really https:

It's just that I don't usually see them.

situations where really https:

Right.

situations where really https:

So the famous case with the Stanford swimmer, we have sober eyewitnesses

situations where really https:

and an unconscious victim.

situations where really https:

Easy case.

situations where really https:

That's black and white.

situations where really https:

And notice there was no discussion at all about whether he's kicked out of Stanford.

situations where really https:

Of course he's kicked out of Stanford.

situations where really https:

The, the debate and, and there wasn't even debate about whether he gets a felony.

situations where really https:

The only debate was about how long he stayed in jail.

situations where really https:

Right?

situations where really https:

So that is from a title nine perspective, an extremely easy case and they do

situations where really https:

exist, but that's not mostly what I see.

situations where really https:

I mostly see, Interactions that everyone agrees began consensually, sometimes

situations where really https:

concluded, apparently consensually.

situations where really https:

But one party either says after the fact, actually, even though I was

situations where really https:

walking, talking, texting, signing you into the dorm, climbing to the

situations where really https:

upper bunk, however I appeared, I was in fact too drunk to consent.

situations where really https:

Or, there were of the ten different sexual acts that we did, this one I didn't

situations where really https:

consent to among the nine that I did.

situations where really https:

And there may be a dispute about, for example, at the

situations where really https:

moment that I withdrew consent.

situations where really https:

for this particular act.

situations where really https:

How rapidly did you respond?

situations where really https:

You the accused student respond.

situations where really https:

And I see a lot of cases where the dispute between the two parties

situations where really https:

about how rapidly there was a change.

situations where really https:

The dispute is measured in seconds.

situations where really https:

Not minutes.

situations where really https:

But that's it.

situations where really https:

That's a heartfelt disagreement about, whether an assault took

situations where really https:

place during those seconds.

situations where really https:

, I also see many, many cases where, the accused student, it is beyond

situations where really https:

question that they were a jerk.

situations where really https:

That they did not treat their partner with sufficient respect or kindness.

situations where really https:

And whether or not there was also an assault in addition to the unkindness, a

situations where really https:

student who is really kind to everyone who they're having any kind of sexual

situations where really https:

contact with is in a lot less danger.

situations where really https:

of being accused of any kind of sexual wrongdoing.

situations where really https:

So for example, he dumped her by text and I'm going to use male and female

situations where really https:

pronouns, although I, about 10% of my cases involve same sex couples.

situations where really https:

He dumped her by text.

situations where really https:

He slept with her roommate.

situations where really https:

He let her think.

situations where really https:

that he was actually interested in her when actually he just wanted to hook up.

situations where really https:

, all of those behaviors are not against Title IX.

situations where really https:

I would consider them both not what even my own students who are accused

situations where really https:

of this, , not, not what the behavior that my students aspire to in terms

situations where really https:

of kindness, but also taking big, big risks in terms of contributing to,, The

situations where really https:

interpretation of a gray situation, like, yeah, okay, we, we had some kind of,

situations where really https:

you know, we had oral sex, we were both drinking, what was four beers too many

situations where really https:

for me that night, that is not really a question with an absolute answer,

situations where really https:

even if we were breathalyzing everyone.

situations where really https:

There are many.

situations where really https:

You know, 1.

situations where really https:

1 is too much to drive.

situations where really https:

Is it?

situations where really https:

But right.

situations where really https:

But the person might be perfectly capable of making reasonable decisions.

situations where really https:

Someone who is an experienced drinker, may be functioning well with a much

situations where really https:

higher blood alcohol content than someone who's a novice drinker.

situations where really https:

So I would say number one, kindness, kindness, kindness,

situations where really https:

is a best practice all the time.

situations where really https:

And if you are treating people with respect and care, you are much, much

situations where really https:

less likely to get accused of misconduct.

situations where really https:

, also I will say this with the awareness that it will sound hypocritical

situations where really https:

coming from almost any adult safety in college requires students to separate

situations where really https:

sex from alcohol as much as possible.

situations where really https:

About.

situations where really https:

95% of my cases involve intoxication.

situations where really https:

90% of my cases, intoxication is the only theory.

situations where really https:

In other words, there's no accusation that the complainant said no, there's no

situations where really https:

accusation that they were unconscious.

situations where really https:

There's no accusation that they were obviously , incoherent.

situations where really https:

The accusation is I acted like I was just buzzed but actually

situations where really https:

I was, I was too too drunk.

situations where really https:

And that leads to , both an entire spectrum from bad sex to assault and I

situations where really https:

would say, well I would even go a wider spectrum from unwise sex to assault.

situations where really https:

Sex that is not going to make you feel happy the next day, , in addition

situations where really https:

to, , sex that unfortunately changes your life either because, , you've

situations where really https:

experienced assault or because you're accused of assault, and all the people

situations where really https:

who are punishing kids for doing this.

situations where really https:

Most of those adults are mixing sex and alcohol in their own private lives.

situations where really https:

Hopefully wisely, but I think there isn't really a safe way to do it.

situations where really https:

in college environments today.

situations where really https:

And so, , if you are excited about somebody you just met and you're hoping

situations where really https:

to get laid or to find a new partner, see if they're still interested tomorrow.

situations where really https:

I love how bold you are.

situations where really https:

In that I just think it's so important.

situations where really https:

I have four kids and two boys and two girls.

situations where really https:

And I often, I say this in my practice, I say, I am a feminist and

situations where really https:

I believe in the rights of all women.

situations where really https:

And I love title nine.

situations where really https:

And I actually, when I was in, my boys were in college, I felt more anxious in

situations where really https:

some way for them than I did for my girls.

situations where really https:

Is that a fair feeling on my part?

situations where really https:

Or is it just Made up.

situations where really https:

I mean, I think that it's, it, this is very painful because, uh,

situations where really https:

blaming, victim blaming is a real thing that really happens.

situations where really https:

Right?

situations where really https:

And the fact that someone made unwise decisions about how much to drink does not

situations where really https:

mean other people were entitled to rape them and doesn't make their experience

situations where really https:

of being assaulted any less valid.

situations where really https:

And at the same time, I can say that even in a world where we eradicate

situations where really https:

sexual assault, drinking yourself into a stupor is never going to be safe.

situations where really https:

And we have to live in the tension of those two things

situations where really https:

being true at the same time.

situations where really https:

That it's it's never your fault that someone took advantage of

situations where really https:

your drunkenness, and if you're less drunk, you will be safer.

situations where really https:

Those things are both true.

situations where really https:

So, in other words, I think there is a lot we can do as, Well, I shouldn't

situations where really https:

I shouldn't include myself in the in the category of young women anymore.

situations where really https:

But there are things we can do to be safer.

situations where really https:

And that's true.

situations where really https:

Both of this true for young women are pardon me for young people of all genders.

situations where really https:

Thinking in advance about not only what kind of sex life we want, but what role we

situations where really https:

want drugs and alcohol to play in our own lives, is enormously helpful to students.

situations where really https:

And I think this is something particularly that young women are

situations where really https:

not socialized to, that you have a right to think in advance about what

situations where really https:

you want your sex slash romantic life to look like, and be empowered

situations where really https:

to seek the things that you want.

situations where really https:

And.

situations where really https:

If you feel permission to do that, and you know what you want, and perhaps what

situations where really https:

you want is experimentation, what you want is discovery, but if you If you

situations where really https:

know going in, what you do and do not want, and you have thought about it,

situations where really https:

you may feel much more empowered , in decision making situations to have sex

situations where really https:

or lack of sex that you feel good about.

situations where really https:

And that you can look back on and say, I learned, I, I had a positive

situations where really https:

experience, I learned something from this.

situations where really https:

I, I chose to do X and discovered that I don't like it, but putting yourself

situations where really https:

in the position of I deserve to be in the driver's seat for my own sex life.

situations where really https:

And maybe that means I maybe, maybe that means there's a ton

situations where really https:

of experimentation going on.

situations where really https:

Maybe it means I'm going to be very celibate.

situations where really https:

Or I'm going to wait for true love, but the more that I think particularly young

situations where really https:

women feel permission to do that because I, I don't think that message is, is

situations where really https:

getting to them in the culture in, in sexual sex ed in high school for those

situations where really https:

lucky enough to get it because there are a lot of American students who don't

situations where really https:

have any or who have only a judgmental kind of abstinence only sex education.

situations where really https:

So that's, that is a huge, area that is missing, I think, particularly

situations where really https:

from our young women's lives.

situations where really https:

And it, it hurts, it hurts us in all kinds of ways.

situations where really https:

Do you have, Resources for like, I'm thinking about my own parents

situations where really https:

that, will be watching this and then also, , IECs, you know, educational

situations where really https:

consultants who have these relationships with kids that are really unique.

situations where really https:

We have an incredible opportunity as IECs to kind of.

situations where really https:

front load boys and young men and women and, you know, all genders

situations where really https:

of like what, how to make some of those thoughtful decisions.

situations where really https:

Do you have resources or is it just something you've created

situations where really https:

like in your own practice?

situations where really https:

, I think there's, there's a, there's a book out that I think is extremely

situations where really https:

enlightening for parents in terms of what the culture is like on campuses,

situations where really https:

as well as some public health experts, ideas of how to, address it.

situations where really https:

It's a book called sexual citizens.

situations where really https:

, I can't recall the, the names of the authors right now, but they

situations where really https:

are on, faculty at Columbia.

situations where really https:

And did a, really interesting, , set of research or multiple, Experiments

situations where really https:

and interventions and interviews, with undergraduates at Columbia and Barnard.

situations where really https:

And, I don't, I don't agree with them on absolutely everything, but I think

situations where really https:

it's, it's an extremely enlightening book.

situations where really https:

And I think the concept of being a sexual citizen where it comes with rights and

situations where really https:

responsibilities is a, is an extremely helpful frame , for putting students,, in

situations where really https:

the driver's seat to make smart decisions.

situations where really https:

I love that.

situations where really https:

I can't wait.

situations where really https:

My apologies to the authors whose names I don't recall, but the

situations where really https:

book is called sexual citizens.

situations where really https:

Yeah.

situations where really https:

Perfect.

situations where really https:

Um, I'm trying to think of, um, you know, one of the other things is IECs

situations where really https:

is we build college lists, right.

situations where really https:

And thinking about.

situations where really https:

Colleges, is there a way to research either as an IEC or parent on

situations where really https:

what colleges do this really well?

situations where really https:

And are there colleges that like, if we know we have a student, let's just say

situations where really https:

who , maybe is already experimenting with drugs and alcohol and we have a little

situations where really https:

bit of concern, like are there colleges that we should like, Stay away from and

situations where really https:

I'm not actually asking you to name them.

situations where really https:

Maybe I'm asking you, how do we find that out?

situations where really https:

So they're not all this.

situations where really https:

So first, I want to just acknowledge that you're right.

situations where really https:

The colleges are not all the same.

situations where really https:

I mean, if you are visiting colleges and you ask tour guides or admissions

situations where really https:

officers about this, they're going to say something that is true, but not helpful.

situations where really https:

They'll say, well, of course, it's a college campus.

situations where really https:

And if you're looking for a party, you're going to be able to find one.

situations where really https:

You want drugs, you're going to be able to find them.

situations where really https:

That's true at BYU, and it's true that at the University of Alabama.

situations where really https:

It is not equally true at those schools, right?

situations where really https:

, and so, I think, Student to student communication is often the best way to get

situations where really https:

the scoop for the most part, the students who are living this are not going to tell

situations where really https:

any adults, you know, you're lucky if they tell their parents, they're certainly

situations where really https:

not going to tell, you know, people visiting a college campus much about that.

situations where really https:

It is.

situations where really https:

not worthless, , to look at Cleary access statistics.

situations where really https:

This is C L E R Y.

situations where really https:

So this is a rule that applies to basically all schools in the

situations where really https:

U S where they have to report what kinds of crimes have been

situations where really https:

reported or discovered on campus.

situations where really https:

And, , this is more insightful, I think when it comes to, Alcohol transports

situations where really https:

and and drug arrests than it is to sexual assault because, , sexual assault

situations where really https:

reports, , are often highest per capita in schools that have made enormous efforts

situations where really https:

to, , Both to create safe spaces to make it easy and , safe to report, and many

situations where really https:

of those schools in my personal judgment have also participated in, in broadening

situations where really https:

the idea of what's a sexual assault.

situations where really https:

So, for example, I had, , a student who was accused of an unwelcome hug.

situations where really https:

or others who have been accused of, , a makeout session on the

situations where really https:

dance floor freshman year when their partner was too drunk.

situations where really https:

And , the, the more inclusive definitions of sexual assault are gonna

situations where really https:

get you very high reporting numbers.

situations where really https:

So you see very high numbers at places like Wesleyan and Oberlin and

situations where really https:

Brown, which I do not believe are the sexual assault capitals of America.

situations where really https:

, but it is, but it is a good way to begin the analysis, especially when it comes

situations where really https:

to, drug and alcohol related crimes.

situations where really https:

Great answer.

situations where really https:

, how do you how to parent?

situations where really https:

Well, I can ask you this, but I think you'll be able to answer really.

situations where really https:

But how do you or parents or I.

situations where really https:

E.

situations where really https:

C.

situations where really https:

State updated on the latest developments around Title nine and Crisis management.

situations where really https:

I know, , in D.

situations where really https:

C.

situations where really https:

We're speaking about like the changes from, , let's see.

situations where really https:

Obama Trump Biden.

situations where really https:

And I know we only have four minutes left, so maybe we can end with this.

situations where really https:

But how do we stay up to date?

situations where really https:

Well, counselors going to conferences and talking to your colleagues who

situations where really https:

specialize in these areas is probably the best way because, , you know, most

situations where really https:

most of us don't have the bandwidth to be following Thank , additional press

situations where really https:

outlets that are carefully covering this, , for schools that are near you

situations where really https:

or that you have a relationship with.

situations where really https:

I read, , campus newspapers pretty frequently.

situations where really https:

I think that is, you know, it's not it is.

situations where really https:

It's not a perfect measure of any kind of statistical pattern, but

situations where really https:

it can tell you something about What topics are on students minds?

situations where really https:

What are they talking about?

situations where really https:

What are the controversies and, , can tell you a lot about the culture of

situations where really https:

schools, which is very important when we're advising students, , either

situations where really https:

are either our own Children or our, , students as counselors.

situations where really https:

I love that that.

situations where really https:

So let me summarize.

situations where really https:

Today, some of the advice that you gave us in, , What I heard

situations where really https:

is, is that read Sexual Citizens.

situations where really https:

Amazing book.

situations where really https:

Maybe some things you might agree or not, but at least it starts the conversation.

situations where really https:

It fits perfectly with our practice because we're in the, I feel like we're

situations where really https:

in the business of raising citizens.

situations where really https:

So I love that.

situations where really https:

Sexual Citizens.

situations where really https:

, reading campus newspapers.

situations where really https:

That's one of the ways we and our practice encourage students to do

situations where really https:

that zoom out, zoom in research, like get to know by reading the newspaper.

situations where really https:

So I love that.

situations where really https:

And then what is the name again of the website where you can research?

situations where really https:

I use more data set for that research.

situations where really https:

But what is the one that you just mentioned?

situations where really https:

I had mentioned the Cleary Act Cleary Act.

situations where really https:

Which which isn't a website.

situations where really https:

It's it's a law mandating that universities and colleges report,

situations where really https:

annual statistics of what crimes were reported on their campus and

situations where really https:

of and of the the inherent flaw.

situations where really https:

There is.

situations where really https:

That unreported crimes will not be on a Cleary Act report, but I still

situations where really https:

think it's it's a useful to use all of these different sources to make

situations where really https:

your best guess about what a student's experience might be if they actually

situations where really https:

were accepted and enrolled there.

situations where really https:

That's great.

situations where really https:

And then finally, that just lovely piece of advice you started with is have a

situations where really https:

relationship with your student where you can say, trust me, I love you.

situations where really https:

I stand by you.

situations where really https:

It doesn't, I wouldn't be maybe disappointed, but I still have your back

situations where really https:

because I'm your parent and love you.

situations where really https:

Is there anything in the last minute that you didn't get to say?

situations where really https:

, I think encouraging our students to think of themselves as the drivers

situations where really https:

of their own experience, and that they have the right to do that, they

situations where really https:

have the responsibility to do that.

situations where really https:

And that the more ownership that they take and telling your parents that you

situations where really https:

need help can be a very mature adult thing to do, realizing when you're

situations where really https:

in over, , over your head, , is, is, , totally a mature adult thing to do.

situations where really https:

Acting as someone who wants to be responsible for your own decisions is

situations where really https:

empowering for the students and increases the odds a little bit that they will

situations where really https:

make more good choices than bad ones.

situations where really https:

Beautiful.

situations where really https:

Thank you.

situations where really https:

Hannah, so much for your time and your words of wisdom and I will continue

situations where really https:

to stalk you at either or Tampa.

situations where really https:

Are you going to be there?

situations where really https:

I did either of those.

situations where really https:

Probably not NACAC, but probably Tampa, probably IECA in Tampa.

situations where really https:

And you'll see me there.

situations where really https:

Yes.

situations where really https:

All right.

situations where really https:

Thank you so much.

situations where really https:

All right.
