Hey there, it's Michael on Mondays. I like sharing a short practice with you so we can start the week off on the right foot.
When I was younger and recovering from my accident, I would argue with reality. Wishing my moment was different, and through this practice I developed the power of acceptance to see things as they are. In other words, this moment is like this. And I hope this practice helps you when you find yourself arguing with reality.
When ready, find a comfortable position, one that allows you to feel dignified. And as you settle in, you can close the eyes, keep 'em open, or have a soft gaze if that makes you feel a little bit more comfortable. And we'll begin by taking a few healthy inhales and nice slow releasing exhales,
giving yourself permission to come into the moment, bring some awareness to your posture, and allow that sense of dignity to flow. Throughout every cell of your body,
and as you come into the natural rhythm of the breath, I invite you to notice your breath.
Notice the characteristics of your in breath.
And the qualities of your outbreath,
your breath is like this
with no wish that your breath is any different than what it is. In this moment
because this moment is like this,
I invite you now to offer your attention to the body, noticing what's here.
You might notice parts of your body feel strong and open, but others may feel. A little tired,
and although we don't wish to be tired right now, your body is like this,
giving yourself permission to accept whatever is here.
If you're lucky, can be a nice sunny day. But it also could be a little rainy or cold, maybe too hot or too humid, and instead of wishing it was any different than what it is, it. Simply say it's like this.
Seeing if you can accept the weather outside for what it is in this moment without wishing it was any different than what it is
because this moment is like this.
When you feel ready, you can begin to ease your attention and start to flutter the eyes open and wiggle. Your fingers and toes. You can even give your body a little stretch. I hope you enjoyed this moment to reflect on acceptance and if you know someone who might like it as well, I hope you'll share it with them.
You can find this moment as well as other microdose practices on. My app, which is called Pause, breathe, reflect, and it's now free in Apple's App Store and on Google Play. Thank you for sharing a moment with me and being part of our community, and I hope you'll check out the other episodes I have for you this week.
Until then together, let's put a beautiful ripple into the world.
