Worst Enemies – Daily Wisdom

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1799 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Proverbs 16:16 says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!" If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget. Today’s quote is from William Wrigley, Jr., and it is, “A person’s doubts and fears are their worst enemies.”

Worst Enemies

Nothing is more harmful to a person than to allow doubts and fears to consume them. It causes paralysis, uncertainty, and ultimately failure. Most doubts and fears are self-generated and should not control us. What we do not consciously realize is the core issue behind doubt and fear is pride. We are afraid that we will not measure up, or even fail. We are fearful of what others may think of us. We are scared that we don’t have what it takes to succeed. We forget that we are created as imagers of the living God. He made us his masterpiece and has equipped us with everything that we need to live a life of godliness. He has given us the talents and abilities that we need to succeed to the level that He desires. God expects us to use what he has given to us for His honor and glory. That is all, and that is enough. God also knows that we, at times, are weak and lose our confidence in ourselves and ultimately in Him. His word is full of precious promises that will give us the strength to carry on, even when we are afraid. Joshua was Moses’ understudy for 40 years, and He saw the mighty hand of God at work many times.  Yet, when it was his time to take over the leadership of the Nation of Israel, God had to remind him that He was sufficient if Joshua continued to follow Him. Joshua 1:6-9 “Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.
