Hi, Amazing Human!

On today's episode I had the pleasure of talking with the Amazing April Towery.

April Towery is an award-winning journalist who has covered everything from quilting bees to Texas Death Row executions. She served 19 months in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice from 2020 to 2022 for intoxication manslaughter, following a fatal drunk driving accident. She was released on parole in January and continues her career as a freelance writer. She recently celebrated three years of continuous sobriety and is working on a memoir about her time in prison.

Her journal entries from her time at Lockhart Correctional Facility, as well as recent entries, are posted at her Prison Diaries Blog
