Hello Wild Soul, in this episode of the Wild Soul Grove Podcast, I explore what real transformation looks like when it is actually lived, not just understood in your head.
I share some of my own story, including how my life has shifted into a more nomadic way of living, and how those external changes are really just a reflection of a much deeper inner journey. I talk about how true change rarely arrives as one dramatic breakthrough. Instead, it shows up in the tiny details of your day, the way you breathe, the way you respond to discomfort, the way you speak to yourself and to other people.
We dive into the idea of embodiment, the practice of living your insights rather than just thinking about them. I explore why the subconscious mind does not change because you have a single powerful realisation, but because you keep showing up in new ways, again and again, even when it feels messy or uncertain.
I also share how you do not have to wait until you feel completely healed or confident before you begin to embody who you want to become. Transformation often starts from a place of curiosity, small experiments and gentle bravery. As you move through life in a slightly different way, your subconscious starts to learn from your lived experience and begins to rewrite the old stories it has been holding on to.
Towards the end of the episode, I guide you through a meditative practice to help you meet the version of yourself that is emerging, the part of you that is more present, more honest and more connected to how you really feel. The focus is on gentle persistence, on remembering that every time you return to your intention, even after slipping back into old patterns, you are embodying your growth.
My intention is that you finish this episode with a clearer sense of what embodiment looks like in your own life, and a kinder, more compassionate approach to the ongoing work of becoming who you really are.
Key takeaways
Foreign.
Speaker A:Hello, and welcome to the Wild Soul Growth podcast with your host, Joe.
Speaker A:And it's been a little while since I last checked in with you.
Speaker A:This is episode four of Deep Dive into the Subconscious.
Speaker A: dy and finished by the end of: Speaker A:For those that have been following me, the.
Speaker A:The plans to become nomadic and, and set off traveling around the world finally managed to.
Speaker A:To sort of happen in January.
Speaker A:And so that meant that I had to pause working on this podcast whilst we got into the right space.
Speaker A:And so now it's the 11th of February, so it's quite a few weeks after the last episode.
Speaker A:We are, we're in our first country, we're in Vietnam.
Speaker A:And as I record, this is actually heading into the, to the late evening, so the traffic's a little bit quieter.
Speaker A:I've still got a fantastic view out over the city and the twinkling lights and, and the bustle still of, of city life.
Speaker A:So without further ado, let's move on with the episode.
Speaker A:So over the last few episodes, we've gone inward.
Speaker A:We've.
Speaker A:We've talked about the subconscious mind.
Speaker A:We've explored the stories that share puzz and how the nervous system keeps these stories alive.
Speaker A:And in last episode, we looked at how change actually happens, not through force, but through safety, emotion and repetition.
Speaker A:Today is about something different.
Speaker A:Today is about living it.
Speaker A:Because insight alone doesn't change your life.
Speaker A:Meditation alone doesn't either.
Speaker A:What changes things is what happens after the meditation ends.
Speaker A:So in this episode, we're going to talk about an embodiment.
Speaker A:When people think about transformation, they often imagine a big moment, a breakthrough, a realization, something dramatic.
Speaker A:But in my experience, real change is usually quiet.
Speaker A:It happens in the small moments, in the way you breathe, when you feel the pressure.
Speaker A:In whether you pause or react, in whether you choose to speak or stay silent, in whether you move towards something or pull away.
Speaker A:This is where the subconscious really learns.
Speaker A:The subconscious doesn't learn from ideas.
Speaker A:It learns from experience.
Speaker A:It learns from what you do when you're slightly uncomfortable.
Speaker A:It learns from how you treat yourself when no one else is watching.
Speaker A:Every time you respond differently, even just a little, you teach your subconscious something new.
Speaker A:One of the biggest misunderstandings about this work is that you have to feel confident before you act confident, or healed before you act differently.
Speaker A:But it's actually the other way around.
Speaker A:You don't wait for the belief to feel solid before you live it.
Speaker A:You live it gently, imperfectly, and the belief catches up.
Speaker A:Embodiment isn't about pretending.
Speaker A:It's not about forcing a version of yourself that doesn't feel true.
Speaker A:It's about trying on a new way of being in small, safe ways.
Speaker A:A softer breath, a slower pace, a clearer boundary, a kinder, internal voice.
Speaker A:These are not small things to the subconscious.
Speaker A:They are evidence.
Speaker A:And this is why repetition matters.
Speaker A:But not in a rigid way.
Speaker A:Repetition is simply consistency, choosing again and again and again, not perfectly, just honestly.
Speaker A:And when you slip back into an old pattern, because you will, that's not failure, that's information.
Speaker A:You notice it, you soften, you return.
Speaker A:That act of returning is embodiment, too.
Speaker A:So today's meditation isn't about changing anything.
Speaker A:It's about meeting the version of you that's already emerging, the one you've been cultivating over the last few episodes, and letting your body recognize that version as safe and real.
Speaker A:So let's drop in.
Speaker A:Take a moment to get comfortable.
Speaker A:Close your eyes, if that feels right.
Speaker A:And take a slow breath in through the nose and a longer breath out through the mouth.
Speaker A:Let the body settle.
Speaker A:Feel your weight where you're sitting.
Speaker A:Feel the ground beneath you.
Speaker A:Nothing to do, Nowhere to go.
Speaker A:Just be here.
Speaker A:Now bring to mind the version of you you've been moving towards.
Speaker A:Not a perfect version, not an idealized one, Just a truer one.
Speaker A:The you who feels a little more at ease in their body, A little more honest, A little more present.
Speaker A:Notice how this version of you stands.
Speaker A:How I breathe, How they hold themselves.
Speaker A:You don't need to see it clearly, just sense it.
Speaker A:Now imagine this version of you standing in front of you.
Speaker A:Not separate, not above you.
Speaker A:Just you with a little more space inside.
Speaker A:Notice how it feels to be in their presence.
Speaker A:Notice what your body does.
Speaker A:And when you're ready, imagine gently stepping forward and allowing that version of you to merge back into your body.
Speaker A:No rush, no force, Just a quiet remembering.
Speaker A:Feel it settle into your chest, Your shoulders, Your breath.
Speaker A:Now bring your attention to the body itself.
Speaker A:Feel your feet, your legs, your spine.
Speaker A:Let your posture adjust naturally.
Speaker A:Not rigid, just supported.
Speaker A:Take a breath and silently say to yourself, this is how it feels to be me.
Speaker A:Say it again slowly.
Speaker A:This is how it feels to be me.
Speaker A:Let that land not as a thought, but as a sensation.
Speaker A:Stay here for a few breaths.
Speaker A:Let the nervous system register this state.
Speaker A:Let the body learn it.
Speaker A:There's nothing you need to carry forward perfectly, just this feeling.
Speaker A:And when you're ready, start to bring the awareness back to the room, To the sounds around you, To the weight of your body.
Speaker A:And gently open your eyes.
Speaker A:So, as you move into the rest of your day, notice the small moments.
Speaker A:The moments where you pause, where you breathe, where you choose slightly differently.
Speaker A:That's the work.
Speaker A:That's embodiment.
Speaker A:And this is where the subconscious really changes.
Speaker A:Foreign.
Speaker A:Thank you for walking through these last few episodes with me.
Speaker A:Next time, we'll begin a new chapter.
Speaker A:We'll be building on this foundation and expanding outward.
Speaker A:But for now, just keep showing up one breath at a time.
Speaker A:So, until next time, you'll find me in the grove.
