Big collaboration news in the US capital region the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments launched a historic initiative, creating comprehensive regional transit planning for Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Congratulations to the winners of the APTA Bus Safety, Security, and Emergency Management Awards. Winners include CapMetro and Corpus Christi in Texas; Clark County in Vancouver, Washington; MARTA in Atlanta; and IndyGo in Indianapolis. 

And we might see a passenger rail line connecting Calgary, Alberta and Livingston, Montana. A feasibility report says rail service could create easy cross-border tourism between Banff, Calgary, Yellowstone National Park, and Glacier National Park.
