Get ready to jazz up your walls because this Saturday, we're diving headfirst into the colorful world of paint! Eric G and John Dudley are teaming up with the fabulous interior designer Wendy Glaister to help you figure out how to choose the perfect paint colors. We're talking deep hunter greens, rich Bordeaux, and all those jewel tones that are making a comeback—who knew moody could look so chic? Plus, in the second hour, we're keeping the good vibes rolling for Women in Construction Week with Lisa Nelson from HydroBlox, who’s got the scoop on revolutionizing shower systems. So, whether you're planning a home makeover or just want to eavesdrop on some great conversation, grab your paintbrush and tune in for a fun-filled hour of tips, tricks, and maybe a few giggles! Imagine strolling through a vibrant art gallery, where each wall screams for attention with its bold hues and playful patterns. That’s pretty much the vibe we’re diving into as we chat with interior designer Wendy Glaster about the latest trends in paint colors. I mean, who knew that deep hunter greens and rich Bordeaux would be making a comeback? Seriously, it’s like the color palette of a fancy, upscale restaurant, and I’m here for it! We banter about how color can transform a space, making it feel more alive, more moody, and just downright more fun. Gone are the days of ‘apartment beige’ that makes you feel like you’re living in a cardboard box – we’re talking jewel tones and navy that can turn any room into a cozy retreat or a chic soirée destination! And let’s be real, if Ralph Lauren can pull off that ‘moody’ aesthetic, why can’t we? As we transition into the second hour, we shift gears to celebrate Women in Construction Week with Lisa Nelson from HydroBlox. Now, if you’re thinking about tackling that old shower that’s seen better days, let’s chat about waterproofing! Because, believe it or not, there’s a better way to go about it than slapping down some green board drywall! Lisa drops some serious knowledge bombs about what’s wrong with the ‘old school’ methods and why we should be listening to what the contractors really need. We’re not just talking about aesthetics here; it’s about building smarter and more durable. So, grab your paintbrushes and hammers, my friends, because we’re about to get real about how to up our home game. The episode wraps up with our usual dose of home maintenance mayhem, some light-hearted banter, and a few questionable DIY decisions, of course! We thank our amazing audience for tuning in and keeping us on the air while we navigate through rogue ladders and website crashes like pros. So, if you’re ready to keep your hammers swinging and your Wi-Fi strong, join us this Saturday for more laughs and tips that might just make your neighbors a tad envious!

Speaker A:We have a great around the house show coming up this weekend.
Speaker A:Help us out and subscribe on your favorite podcast player.
Speaker A:In the first hour of the show, Eric G. And John Dudley sit down with interior designer Wendy Glaster and discuss how to pick out paint colors and the right way to tackle that next painting project.
Speaker B:Well, you saw a lot of color in High Point this year in October, and I think you'll see it again this April.
Speaker B:But that deep hunter green is back, and the Bordeaux are back, and gold and all those jewel tones, navy, all of that is back.
Speaker B:And it's really nice to see color on the walls.
Speaker B:And they say it's like the new moody way to go about doing things, but really, Ralph Lauren's been doing it for a very long time.
Speaker C:I like it.
Speaker C:I was making fun with Johnny here earlier on this year.
Speaker C:You know, in the kind of fall, winter, they're kind of around the holidays where everybody comes out with their color of the year.
Speaker C:And some people were bold and some of one, I think one of them I called apartment Beige because that's just what it was.
Speaker C:And I'm like, really?
Speaker C:Do we need to do the Navajo white again?
Speaker C:I'm good, but color is big out there, and, you know, I think most people would agree with that.
Speaker C:And we're just going big and bold, and I think it's fun.
Speaker A:In the second hour, it's women in Construction Week, so we continue that theme with Lisa Nelson with hydro block.
Speaker D:There's a bigger problem that we face, and that's on the exterior wall.
Speaker D:So can it.
Speaker D:It was conversation after conversation where they wanted to know, where else can we use it?
Speaker D:So from the very beginning, from those introductions is kind of how we have built to where we are today, was just basically listening to what the contractor needed.
Speaker C:That is awesome.
Speaker C:And I tell you what, with shower systems, it is a game changer.
Speaker C:And I can't believe how many times.
Speaker C:And I'm on so many different, like, I'm an expert in so many different Facebook groups for homeowners out there.
Speaker C:You know, I come in and check it out, and they.
Speaker C:And the people, the administrators are like, oh, you want to be the expert?
Speaker C: re building showers like it's: Speaker C:Sorry, Hardy backer, but you're throwing it up in there and I'm just like, well, you're going to be doing that in three years whether you want to or not.
Speaker D:Yeah, well, I mean, this is a couple of years ago.
Speaker D:I knew nothing about waterproofing a shower.
Speaker A:All that and more on Saturday's around the House show with Eric G. If you work in the trades or construction or design business, check out the around the House Pro Insider podcast that is back.
