Sometimes, I share links to resources and apps that I recommend. They are all based on my experience - if I don't love them, I don't recommend them. In some cases, I earn a small commission for my recommendation, at no cost to you.
We live in a culture that praises hustle. If you're not busy, are you even trying?
Sumantha:
But here's the truth. Your worth is not measured by your output.
Sumantha:
This is such an important conversation to have in the education world, especially because a lot of people come from professional backgrounds where burnout is worn as a badge of honour, where you just go at a hundred miles an hour all the time and you associate that...
Sumantha:
...with productivity, but the reality is you don't have to work 24/7 to deserve success.
Sumantha:
You don't need to constantly be improving to be a good business owner. You already are enough as you are.
Sumantha:
Rest, boundaries and downtime are not just nice to haves, as I have learned over the years. They're actually essential.
Sumantha:
And when you feel relaxed, that's when the great ideas come.
Sumantha:
Those things that you've been worried about or things you've been thinking about, like how do I grow my business? Or what could be a great idea to add to an existing offering.
Sumantha:
All of those things, they just kind of come like magic to your brain when you are relaxed and your business can grow without you burning out.
Sumantha:
In fact, it will grow better if you are taking care of yourself.
Sumantha:
So something I think we all need to do is to stop equating hustle with value.
Sumantha:
Stop tying your self-worth to your productivity because you're doing great. We all are.
Sumantha:
Keep going, but at your pace, not at someone else's because you don't need to hustle to be worthy...
Sumantha:
...and we have to build something that is sustainable because if it's not sustainable, we can't continue making money doing something that we really love.
