Title: Christ and Him Crucified. Why? Paul says, brethren, when I came to you, I did not come with superiority of speech or wisdom, and he's referring here, of course, to the understanding of men in proclaiming the testimony of God to you.

So he's setting the scene for what he's about to say. This is the testimony of God—the testimony of God the Father and Jesus Christ. Verse two: I decided not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. Was Paul preaching an inferior gospel? Was Paul not preaching a whole gospel when he said, I decided not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified?
