Speaker:

I love the way that the Lord confirms things through His

Speaker:

Word and through His worship leaders and everything

Speaker:

else. I'm excited about what the Lord has tonight.

Speaker:

I have had the privilege of jumping around in all of the

Speaker:

Gospels and then jumping over to some of the red

Speaker:

letters in Revelation, and I just

Speaker:

I am constantly floored by the continuity of the Word and

Speaker:

challenged by the way it just weaves itself

Speaker:

into the next. And so, I'm excited about tonight. Tonight, we are going

Speaker:

to— we are entering into week 7. We have one more week of

Speaker:

this particular study. Then we will have

Speaker:

our conference, which will be so exciting. We're going

Speaker:

to share information with you Sunday regarding— I know you saw

Speaker:

some stuff online, but we're going to share some more with you this coming Sunday

Speaker:

to give you an idea what's heading in your direction and

Speaker:

what you can get ready for and be equipped for.

Speaker:

So this week, next week, going to conference, and then we have a

Speaker:

new series that's going to begin called— and it's entitled

Speaker:

"The Sermon of Sermons." And I'm excited about the

Speaker:

pillars of faith that are going to be sharing that study with you.

Speaker:

Okay, so let's jump into the Word. This— today we're

Speaker:

going to talk about a new song. We're actually going to be talking about

Speaker:

worship because Jesus addressed worship in

Speaker:

And if He addressed it, we want to find out what He had to say

Speaker:

about it, right? Okay, the very first thing that we're going

Speaker:

to start with is this. And let me put my glasses on so I can

Speaker:

actually see. In John 4, if you've got your Bible, John

Speaker:

4:19-16, that's where we're going to

Speaker:

start. That's where we're going to begin.

Speaker:

John 4. 15 through 16.

Speaker:

He said

Speaker:

this, "Sir," the woman said— this is woman

Speaker:

at the well— "I can see that you are a prophet.

Speaker:

Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim

Speaker:

that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem."

Speaker:

"Woman," Jesus said, "believe me, a time is coming—" I'm

Speaker:

gonna need this— "A time is coming when you will worship the Father

Speaker:

neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You Samaritans

Speaker:

worship what you do not know; we worship 'What we do know,

Speaker:

for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time

Speaker:

is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will

Speaker:

worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are

Speaker:

the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is Spirit,

Speaker:

and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in

Speaker:

truth.' Then a little further down it says, 'The woman said, I know

Speaker:

that Messiah called Christ is coming, and when he comes, he

Speaker:

will explain everything to us.' Then Jesus declared,

Speaker:

"I, the one speaking to you, I am

Speaker:

he." Father God, I thank you so much for your word. I thank you for

Speaker:

the light and the life that is in it. I thank you for the breath

Speaker:

on the page. Lord, I need it. And so, Father, I ask that you just

Speaker:

breathe over this time and, and these people tonight, Lord, and that

Speaker:

we would sense your presence. And Lord, that the Holy Spirit would just

Speaker:

unfold your truth in this time together. Lord, I thank you for

Speaker:

the upward call of these words that you've left for us. Pray that my stuff

Speaker:

fall and yours stand, in Jesus' name.

Speaker:

Tonight, I really believe I'm going to have one section in

Speaker:

here that I know will be a little bit repetitive, but I feel like that's

Speaker:

a really good thing because I don't know about you, but I need to hear

Speaker:

things more than once so that I will retain them. Actually, I probably need to

Speaker:

hear them daily, you know, if I'm going to really grab hold of

Speaker:

them, but especially in things like this. But I want to talk to you about

Speaker:

worship and, and actually kind of 3 different sections of my life

Speaker:

where the Lord has kind of transformed my life through worship,

Speaker:

and given me some pivotal moments that I just kind of want to share

Speaker:

with you and lace them in with the Word and the directives of the

Speaker:

Holy Spirit in this particular passage, and see what the Lord

Speaker:

shows us in it. This is what I do believe.

Speaker:

Oops. Okay, we're going to go back to that one. In

Speaker:

our interactions with Christ, However great or small, there is

Speaker:

always an invitation for exchange.

Speaker:

Something happens. Something happens when you come

Speaker:

into the presence of the Lord, and when you come in with a

Speaker:

heart posture just to worship Him,

Speaker:

just to acknowledge who He is and what He has done,

Speaker:

there is this exchange that takes place. And the Lord kind

Speaker:

of shared this with me even as I was a young child. I

Speaker:

want you to know that anytime You

Speaker:

feel drawn into His presence, and I don't know if

Speaker:

you've ever experienced this. I hope you have, but have you ever like been in

Speaker:

an altar space, or in a quiet place in your home, and you

Speaker:

just begin to pray and seek the Lord, and you begin to worship

Speaker:

Him? "Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name." You just begin to

Speaker:

worship Him, and man, it's almost like this

Speaker:

liquid love just kind of begins to flow over you.

Speaker:

It's like this warmth, this anointing that comes in

Speaker:

as His presence just pervades There's an exchange in that.

Speaker:

There is a promise of the reality of Christ, and there is

Speaker:

a hope that is wrapped in the middle of that exchange. And

Speaker:

there's an awareness that happens when you come into His presence to

Speaker:

worship Him. The Lord kind of taught me this when I was a small child.

Speaker:

I was probably about 8 years old, and I was in my dad's church. And

Speaker:

I remember it so clearly because of what the Lord taught me.

Speaker:

I'd always been a little bit fearful in a lot of things, but my dad

Speaker:

was preaching one night, and And he just, he

Speaker:

stopped and he just looked and he said, "Hey, Barbie, come up here and

Speaker:

sing a song with me." And of course, everything in me just kind

Speaker:

of went, "No!" But I did it. And I

Speaker:

just remember I walked up on that platform. You know, I use the

Speaker:

word platform lightly, because it was just a little storefront mission. I mean,

Speaker:

it was like this. You know, it's like a 6-inch step and I was on

Speaker:

the platform, but it felt like miles. Because it was a challenge in

Speaker:

my spirit. And my dad grabbed his guitar and he began to play,

Speaker:

it's an old song called "Born Again." Satan tried to tell

Speaker:

me I just thought I got saved, and he tells

Speaker:

me what a fool I have been. But

Speaker:

when my mind goes back to that old bench where

Speaker:

I prayed, I know that I've been born again.

Speaker:

And I just remember his rich baritone voice. He had the

Speaker:

best voice. And I just remember joining in to

Speaker:

sing, sing with him. And I remember distinctly, I

Speaker:

refused to look at the congregation. All I could do was

Speaker:

look at him. I wanted to look at him

Speaker:

while he was singing, and I wanted to sing with him

Speaker:

and communicate with him And

Speaker:

there was something that happened in that time. It's like just

Speaker:

looking at him and singing this song, my fear

Speaker:

left, my anxiety left. I was

Speaker:

okay because my eyes were where they were supposed to be. And we

Speaker:

were singing this song to a God that we both loved. And I

Speaker:

remember when the song was over, I just remember him reaching down

Speaker:

and taking my hand to walk to the edge of that huge

Speaker:

platform. And I just remember him taking a moment

Speaker:

and looking at me with these blue-gray eyes.

Speaker:

And I just remember looking at him, and I remember him smiling

Speaker:

and these crinkles in the corners of his eyes. And I felt

Speaker:

like in that moment I knew him.

Speaker:

I felt like I saw him, and I felt like

Speaker:

he saw me. And there was something that happened in that

Speaker:

moment that confirmed something in me because of

Speaker:

the, the intimacy of that moment that I wasn't expecting. Expecting. There

Speaker:

was this exchange that took place between my father

Speaker:

and I at that time, and, and I will never forget that.

Speaker:

It impacted me because what it did was it birthed

Speaker:

something in me that in later years I would understand that

Speaker:

when I enter into that place with the Lord, when I enter into

Speaker:

that place where it's not about anybody or anything

Speaker:

except me and him, I can see Him.

Speaker:

Now, I'm not talking a physical see Him. I'm talking I

Speaker:

can see Him, and I know that He sees me.

Speaker:

And there's an intimacy in that exchange with Him,

Speaker:

and that is the invitation that He offers to us.

Speaker:

And as we go a little bit further in the scripture, I want you to

Speaker:

see how He begins to tie all of this

Speaker:

together. But

Speaker:

our interactions with Christ, however

Speaker:

great or small, something always exchanges

Speaker:

hands. Something is always offered that we can grab

Speaker:

onto. There is a revelation in your time

Speaker:

with Him. There just is, if we will

Speaker:

receive that. The definition exchanging says, "Give

Speaker:

one thing of value in return for another." to give

Speaker:

something up in order to get something else.

Speaker:

And see, sometimes we have to give something up in order

Speaker:

to get something else. And I don't know about you,

Speaker:

but I want something else. I want something

Speaker:

else. I want more of Him. What's interesting to me is as I begin

Speaker:

to talk about exchange, and as I begin to seek the Lord on that,

Speaker:

He took me to Isaiah 61,

Speaker:

And in Isaiah 61, what we do is we begin

Speaker:

to see what our exchanges with the

Speaker:

Lord actually look like because he says, "The Spirit of the

Speaker:

Sovereign Lord is on me. The Lord has anointed me to proclaim good

Speaker:

news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the

Speaker:

brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for captives and release

Speaker:

from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's

Speaker:

favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to to comfort all

Speaker:

who mourn and provide for those who grieve in Zion,

Speaker:

to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the

Speaker:

oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise

Speaker:

instead of a spirit of despair or

Speaker:

heaviness. The exchange that happens with

Speaker:

the Lord, He always takes what we have

Speaker:

and, and exchanges it for something so much better.

Speaker:

So much better. It's not like we can come before Him and offer

Speaker:

Him something grand and something glorious, but what we do

Speaker:

is bring our raw selves to

Speaker:

Him. And He sees us,

Speaker:

and He takes all of this that we're carrying,

Speaker:

all of this that, that we're wearing, all of the things,

Speaker:

the weights of the world, all of it, and the

Speaker:

exchange is made because of what He has

Speaker:

done, because of what He's done, because of His great

Speaker:

mercies. And what we are encouraged to do according

Speaker:

to scripture, it says, this is what we

Speaker:

offer. In the view of God's mercy, we

Speaker:

offer our bodies as a living

Speaker:

sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, because that is our

Speaker:

true and proper worship. What?

Speaker:

It's not dancing and jumping or

Speaker:

anything. No, it's all of us. It's

Speaker:

everything that we are that we offer to Him. And then it goes

Speaker:

on and it says, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be

Speaker:

transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then

Speaker:

you will be able to test and approve what God's will

Speaker:

is, His good, pleasing, and and perfect

Speaker:

will. Do you see the exchange in

Speaker:

that? Do you see that when we take

Speaker:

ourselves and give ourselves to Him, He

Speaker:

begins to help us conform and allow

Speaker:

our minds to be renewed and transformed so that we can

Speaker:

begin to discern His will?

Speaker:

We give Him ourselves and He gives us

Speaker:

Himself. And guys, it's just not even. At

Speaker:

all. It's just not a fair trade.

Speaker:

Aren't you glad it didn't have to be a fair

Speaker:

trade? Oh my goodness, worship houses an exchange that

Speaker:

happens nowhere else in our walk with Him, and I believe that.

Speaker:

I believe that there is a humility. You know what, I never really

Speaker:

sat and thought about Jesus as a worshiper, but it talks about

Speaker:

Him singing hymns, and the posture that He took in the

Speaker:

Garden of Gethsemane to go face down before His Father

Speaker:

to travail. That's worship. And there's an obedience. Everything

Speaker:

about Jesus' life declared that His

Speaker:

obedience to the Father.

Speaker:

And everything that I read shows that as an act of worship.

Speaker:

Shows it as a strong act, a position, a

Speaker:

place of humility. Yet when you talk about Jesus, you would never

Speaker:

really go, "Oh yeah, He was an amazing worshiper." His

Speaker:

life was lived in obedience to the Father.

Speaker:

And what does the Word say? It says, "They'll know that you love me when

Speaker:

you keep our— his commandments," and we follow into that place

Speaker:

of obedience. When we offer

Speaker:

ourselves in worship, we open a door that leads to

Speaker:

transformation by the renewing of our minds, and then

Speaker:

allows us to discern his good and perfect

Speaker:

Will. What? Okay, so all of the times when

Speaker:

people come up and go, "I just wish I knew what God's will was for

Speaker:

my life. Can you tell me what God's will is for my life?"

Speaker:

No, I can't. I mean, there are a few scriptures I could give you, but

Speaker:

if you will offer yourself to Him, if you will just walk in

Speaker:

with arms wide and go, "God, I don't know the answers here,

Speaker:

but I'm going to give you everything that I am to the best of my

Speaker:

ability. I'm going to bow this will, and I am going to follow you.

Speaker:

And Lord, I'm trusting that as that happens, happens, Lord, my

Speaker:

mind in your presence is going to be transformed so that

Speaker:

I can discern your will.

Speaker:

The fruits of the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit

Speaker:

found in that exchange. Now, this

Speaker:

is the portion that I have shared with you before, and I, I can't get

Speaker:

away from it. So if I can't get away from it, you can't get away

Speaker:

from it. Well, I guess you could. Nobody's going to grab you, but Kevin, if

Speaker:

somebody starts

Speaker:

I can blame Kevin because he did this whole video about the Lenten

Speaker:

season, and so I have been pondering Lent, and

Speaker:

I have been pondering this season and everything that our heart

Speaker:

postures are supposed to be in this. And the Lord reminded

Speaker:

me of a dream, and in my dream I knew I was watching the triumphal

Speaker:

entry. I knew I was standing back and I was watching. I could

Speaker:

hear this noise from a distance, and I. And I was standing and I was

Speaker:

watching, and it was almost like I was trying to look over everybody's heads, you

Speaker:

know, to see in the distance. And I could hear people crying out, and I

Speaker:

could hear them calling out. And in my dream, I

Speaker:

knew that it was the triumphal entry. I knew that Jesus was coming

Speaker:

into that, to that area, and he was getting ready to ride in on

Speaker:

this donkey. And I could— everybody, I mean, I could

Speaker:

see cloaks flying, I could see things being cast

Speaker:

down, I could hear everybody crying, Hosanna! Palm

Speaker:

branches, all of the stuff, all the same

Speaker:

thing. But then I heard this voice, and it

Speaker:

was saying all of the exact same things

Speaker:

that everybody else was saying. It was crying

Speaker:

out, "Hosanna!

Speaker:

Hosanna!" And— but it was so different. It was like it

Speaker:

pierced through the darkness. You

Speaker:

know, I think about that now, and I look back and I'm like, "Man, you

Speaker:

know, they were— everybody that

Speaker:

was there was probably there for a different

Speaker:

reason." Kind of like when everybody comes to church on Sunday,

Speaker:

everybody kind of comes for a different reason. Some of us come because that's

Speaker:

the habit. You know, some of us come because mama and daddy said

Speaker:

come, and that we've never gotten away from that. Some of us come because this

Speaker:

is where our friends are and we don't want to miss out on anything. You

Speaker:

know, some of us, it's just part of what we do. But

Speaker:

then there are some that come in and go, "God, I just want

Speaker:

to worship you. I just want to come in and I want to

Speaker:

pierce this thing that has been driving me crazy,

Speaker:

Lord. I want to get through this, Lord, to your presence."

Speaker:

And they come in with a purpose, or they come in with a clarity.

Speaker:

And— that woman, the service was in full swing, we'll just call

Speaker:

it that, and her voice, the

Speaker:

cry of, "Hosanna!" It's like you could hear the tears in it. You

Speaker:

could hear the push in it, and the closest thing I can relate

Speaker:

it to was, you know, that, that hem of

Speaker:

the garment when the woman pushed through the crowd and she

Speaker:

touched the hem of His garment. And you know, everybody else was touching

Speaker:

Him, and everybody else was crushing in on Him, but there was

Speaker:

this one And the Word says He felt the virtue flow out of

Speaker:

Him, and He said, "Who touched Me?" And His disciples said, "How

Speaker:

can we tell You who touched You?" That's what

Speaker:

her song was. Her song was

Speaker:

touching the hem of His garment. Her

Speaker:

song was piercing a place

Speaker:

that nobody else was touching.. And in my

Speaker:

dream I said, "Lord, what is that? Lord,

Speaker:

what is that?" And you know, in your dream you can

Speaker:

do anything, right? Not always pleasant, but you know, you can always get—

Speaker:

In my dream it was like I went from here to right into the

Speaker:

middle of her heart, into the middle of her spirit.

Speaker:

And what I saw in her spirit was this, what I saw

Speaker:

in her spirit was

Speaker:

a woman standing unclothed

Speaker:

in front of accusers with them

Speaker:

yelling at her, telling her how bad she was,

Speaker:

how evil she was, confirming in her

Speaker:

own spirit everything that she had always said to herself.

Speaker:

And all of these people had stones in their hand, and

Speaker:

what I saw in her heart was her waiting

Speaker:

for the stones. I saw her waiting with

Speaker:

head bent, crouched down, waiting for the stones to hit

Speaker:

as she heard the, the people

Speaker:

yelling and shaming her and,

Speaker:

and literally just tearing her

Speaker:

apart, tearing her heart apart. And then right in

Speaker:

the middle of

Speaker:

that I hear, like her head's down,

Speaker:

and I hear, "Let he who

Speaker:

is without sin cast

Speaker:

the first stone." And what I saw in her heart was waiting

Speaker:

for that stone, waiting for that

Speaker:

stone to hit. But instead of the stones

Speaker:

beginning to hit She began to hear them drop

Speaker:

one by one into the sand,

Speaker:

into the dirt, and she hears footsteps

Speaker:

begin

Speaker:

to shuffle away, and then she hears that same

Speaker:

voice go, "Woman, Woman, where

Speaker:

are your accusers? And I could see her eyes just looking up for a second,

Speaker:

and her going, Lord,

Speaker:

I have none. And Him saying,

Speaker:

Neither do I accuse you.

Speaker:

Now get up. Some translations say, Go live a better

Speaker:

life. Go and sin no more. But what

Speaker:

happened in her heart at that moment when He

Speaker:

said, Neither 'Neither do I accuse

Speaker:

you.' There was a worship born in her

Speaker:

heart. There was a song that only she could

Speaker:

sing. And so, you know, in my

Speaker:

dream when He said, 'Neither do I accuse you. Go and

Speaker:

sin no more,' in my dream she didn't lift her

Speaker:

head. In my dream He knelt and He

Speaker:

lifted her head. And he looked her in the eyes, and

Speaker:

I just remember thinking in that she didn't

Speaker:

see condemnation, she didn't see hatred, she didn't see judgment.

Speaker:

She saw a love and a compassion,

Speaker:

and she saw

Speaker:

kindness. Kindness and truth. And see, didn't we just

Speaker:

talk about Sunday that the initiator The two things

Speaker:

that we know genuine love carries are

Speaker:

what? Patience and kindness. And she found that

Speaker:

in His eyes. And so, in my dream when

Speaker:

she was singing, "Hosanna," she sang from

Speaker:

somewhere totally different than everybody else because

Speaker:

the revelation that Jesus had given her in her life

Speaker:

was a revelation of His goodness. Then when

Speaker:

she said, "Hosanna," Glory to God in the highest.

Speaker:

She meant it. She didn't sing it because they sing it— were singing

Speaker:

it. She didn't sing it because it was a popular song.

Speaker:

She sang it because she meant it. And when she meant

Speaker:

it, this is a different note, guys. It is a different

Speaker:

note. And it is what the Word is talking

Speaker:

about in this first passage. He says the time's coming when it's

Speaker:

not going to matter what mountain you worship on. What's going

Speaker:

to happen is you're going to worship in spirit and in truth. It's not going

Speaker:

to be where, it's going to be how. And it

Speaker:

says, "Even now." Even

Speaker:

now how we worship

Speaker:

matters. The opportunity for the exchange is all over

Speaker:

this, and it comes out of the revelations that are

Speaker:

born in that moment with Him.

Speaker:

Oh, Jesus, our worship carries our personal revelation

Speaker:

of Christ. It

Speaker:

testifies. It testifies. When you are standing next to

Speaker:

somebody who is in it, you're going to feel it. You're

Speaker:

going to know it. It is their testimony. When they

Speaker:

say, "God, You are holy," they

Speaker:

mean it. It testifies. It is the song that issues

Speaker:

from the depths of absolutely everything we

Speaker:

we have come to

Speaker:

know of Him. Because there's this— praise may speak to your level of

Speaker:

involvement and passion, but your worship speaks to your level

Speaker:

of personal revelation of

Speaker:

who He is. You can

Speaker:

be a passionate praise person. You can

Speaker:

get into it. You can be moved by the music. You can

Speaker:

be moved by everybody else in the room being moved,

Speaker:

or there can be a revelation, a personal revelation of who God

Speaker:

is in your life that allows you to offer

Speaker:

something that is rich and deep. And here's the thing, guys, nobody

Speaker:

else can offer it for you. Nobody

Speaker:

else can sing the song that you're singing, because here's

Speaker:

what it is: when spirit and truth marry, when

Speaker:

we worship in spirit and truth, the offspring is a new

Speaker:

song.. It's a new song and it

Speaker:

says— it's called Tehillah Praise

Speaker:

and Worship. Tehillah Praise and Worship. I'm going to read that

Speaker:

to you. It says, Tehillah worship

Speaker:

is a spontaneous new song. It is a song that abides

Speaker:

in your heart that only you can give words to. It is

Speaker:

a song offered straight to the heart of God. It is worship

Speaker:

offered when you really know, when you're Your story is strong

Speaker:

enough to demand your gratitude, and your spirit in

Speaker:

truth begins to move. Tehillah is

Speaker:

praise offered

Speaker:

from your deepest levels. Tehillah praise and worship is

Speaker:

a spontaneous new song that only you can give words

Speaker:

to. Only you can give words to. Now guys, when I'm

Speaker:

saying a song, it may not be a

Speaker:

song. It may be a word. It

Speaker:

may be a gratitude. It may be a poem. It is

Speaker:

something that only you can voice. That's why it's so different

Speaker:

when you hear somebody sing a song that somebody else has

Speaker:

written, or somebody else has done, or you hear them sing

Speaker:

a song that they've written. It's different. It comes

Speaker:

from a

Speaker:

different place. Oh, Jesus. Um, okay,

Speaker:

only you can give. I think I already did

Speaker:

this. Okay, here's the thing. This particular thing, when

Speaker:

it says a new song, sing a new

Speaker:

song to the Lord, it says it

Speaker:

is kainos odei. It's odei, odei.

Speaker:

In a kainos ode, and it says,

Speaker:

"It is

Speaker:

at once unprecedented, uncommon, unheard of." Now listen

Speaker:

to these last

Speaker:

two, "Unused and unworn." That means it's original

Speaker:

to you. Nobody has sang it before.

Speaker:

Nobody's used it before. Nobody's worn it before. As

Speaker:

a woman who actually loves a good thrift store, this is

Speaker:

a groundbreaker for me. Anyway, but I grew

Speaker:

up wishing for new clothes, but I inevitably wound

Speaker:

up with the clothes of my older sisters, which was a blessing in and of

Speaker:

itself because they had much better taste than I do. But I look

Speaker:

at this and I go, God

Speaker:

has a new song?

Speaker:

That is unprecedented, uncommon, unheard

Speaker:

of, unused, and unworn

Speaker:

for me? For me? To me, again,

Speaker:

that is that moment like when you

Speaker:

are touching His garment. That is the moment when you press

Speaker:

in, and you move in close to Him, and you You move into

Speaker:

that place with Him that you hadn't been to before. Now

Speaker:

guys, listen to this. This is— this, I love the way God does this.

Speaker:

According to Psalm 22:3, Tehillah. There are a lot of names

Speaker:

for worship. There are a lot of monikers, a lot of

Speaker:

descriptives. According to Psalm 22:3, Tehillah is

Speaker:

the worship that God inhabits. It's

Speaker:

the worship that He inhabits! God

Speaker:

inhabits the praises, Tehillah, of His people.

Speaker:

It's personal, and it's intimate, and it literally is the

Speaker:

picture of Him sitting down in the middle of

Speaker:

that moment with you. Tehillah. It's not about

Speaker:

who you're near, it's not about who's sitting next to you, it's not their worship

Speaker:

that drew Him. It is your

Speaker:

worship, your new song, this thing that only He can

Speaker:

give you that's personal. That you offer to Him, and

Speaker:

oh, He moves right into it. And that's why when

Speaker:

you enter that place with

Speaker:

Him, you can't stand. Literally, in those places with Him,

Speaker:

you can only find a posture on your knees. You can only

Speaker:

find a posture— remember when Josh was talking about, you know, he said, "You know,

Speaker:

Lord, I just want to know Your presence," or, "Lord, just come and walk with

Speaker:

me," and he just began to sense the

Speaker:

slightest bit of the Lord's presence, and he was petrified and said,

Speaker:

"Lord, I'm— no, I didn't mean it. I'm sorry.

Speaker:

I'm sorry." There is

Speaker:

an invitation to exchange with Him when you

Speaker:

begin to offer this song that only you can offer. Now, I feel

Speaker:

like I need to clarify because some of you are sitting there thinking,

Speaker:

"Well, I don't really write songs. I don't really do—" That's

Speaker:

not it. That's not it. You can sing this song without

Speaker:

ever opening your mouth. It is a cry of your heart. It

Speaker:

is a transparent place before Him that knows Him, knowing

Speaker:

that He sees you, you see Him, and everything

Speaker:

you have walked through with Him

Speaker:

testifies in that moment. Now, let's take it to

Speaker:

the

Speaker:

next level. This exchange Psalm 96:1-2 says, "Sing to

Speaker:

the Lord a new song. Sing unto the

Speaker:

Lord, all the earth. Sing unto the Lord and bless His name."

Speaker:

What does that— to me, that's

Speaker:

Him going, "Everybody! Everybody! Everybody!

Speaker:

Sing a new song to the

Speaker:

Lord!" Not somebody else's, yours! Sing your song to the

Speaker:

Lord! Share your heart With Him,

Speaker:

exchange leads to

Speaker:

knowing, knowing to

Speaker:

revelation, revelation to worship, and worship to

Speaker:

new song. But here's the thing, it's

Speaker:

not just any new song.

Speaker:

It is tied to everything that's happened before, everything

Speaker:

that is going to happen, everything that you are in

Speaker:

the middle of now. It is It is a song that to me, from everything

Speaker:

that I have read and see in scripture, it is

Speaker:

a song laced through, and wound through,

Speaker:

and embedded through all of

Speaker:

eternity. New songs bathed in spirit and eternal

Speaker:

truth. Okay, what does that look like? That looks like to me some

Speaker:

more of the red words.

Speaker:

If you go to Revelation 5, actually it's right after the

Speaker:

red words. If you go to Revelation

Speaker:

5, and we begin at verse 7. Guys, I

Speaker:

want you to just— I want you to close your

Speaker:

eyes for a minute and go

Speaker:

here with me, okay? "Then I saw in the right hand of Him who

Speaker:

sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides, and sealed

Speaker:

with 7 seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud

Speaker:

voice, 'Write 'Who is worthy to break the seals and open the

Speaker:

scroll?' But no one in heaven or on earth or under the

Speaker:

earth could open the scroll or even look inside

Speaker:

it. I wept and I wept because no one

Speaker:

was found worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the

Speaker:

elders said to me, 'Do not

Speaker:

weep. See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root

Speaker:

of David, has triumphed.' 'He is able to open the scroll

Speaker:

and its 7 seals.' Then I saw a Lamb looking as

Speaker:

if it had been slain, standing in the center

Speaker:

of the throne, encircled by the 4 living creatures and the elders. He

Speaker:

had 7 horns and 7 eyes, which are the 7 spirits of God sent

Speaker:

out into the earth. And He came out and He took the

Speaker:

scroll from the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. And when

Speaker:

He had taken it, When

Speaker:

He had taken it, the, the four living creatures

Speaker:

and the 24 elders fell down before

Speaker:

the Lamb. Each one had a harp, and

Speaker:

they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers

Speaker:

of the saints, and

Speaker:

they sang a new song. They sang a

Speaker:

new song, "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its

Speaker:

seals because You were slain." That's the reason Revelation, they

Speaker:

know, "And with your blood you purchased men for God in every tribe

Speaker:

and language and people and nation. You have made them

Speaker:

to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they

Speaker:

will reign on earth." And then listen to this, it says, "Then

Speaker:

I looked and heard the voice of

Speaker:

many angels numbering thousands upon thousands and ten

Speaker:

thousands times ten thousand. They encircled the throne."

Speaker:

And the living creatures and the elders, in a

Speaker:

loud voice, they began to sing, 'Worthy is

Speaker:

the Lamb who was slain to receive

Speaker:

power and wealth and wisdom and honor and glory and praise.'

Speaker:

Guys, listen here. It says, then I

Speaker:

heard every creature in heaven and on earth and

Speaker:

under the earth and on the sea and all that

Speaker:

is in them singing, 'To him who

Speaker:

sits on the throne and unto

Speaker:

the Lamb be praise and honor

Speaker:

and glory and power

Speaker:

forever and ever.' The four

Speaker:

living creatures said, 'Amen,' and the elders

Speaker:

fell down and worshiped. The

Speaker:

elders fell down

Speaker:

and worshipped His word. Worthy is the

Speaker:

Lamb who was slain to receive power, and wealth, and wisdom,

Speaker:

and strength, and honor,

Speaker:

and glory, and praise.

Speaker:

Eternity's song. Eternity's song is

Speaker:

already written on your hearts. Even as I

Speaker:

read those words, I know you can imagine it. I know that you can

Speaker:

see it. I know because eternity has been written

Speaker:

on your hearts, and when you encounter something that

Speaker:

touches that, it awakens. Eternity's song is written on your hearts, and

Speaker:

I believe with everything in me that it looks like to HeLa when we were

Speaker:

when we begin to worship in spirit

Speaker:

and in truth, I believe the

Speaker:

new song is released to join

Speaker:

the song of the Lamb. When

Speaker:

we begin to offer that to Him,

Speaker:

I believe our voices, our

Speaker:

cries, our revelation joins with the elders, joins

Speaker:

with the creatures, joins with everything on land, and everything on the sea, and

Speaker:

in the the sea, I believe we join with

Speaker:

them in a song of

Speaker:

eternal testimony and revelation of the

Speaker:

worthiness of the Lamb who

Speaker:

was slain. To him who

Speaker:

sits on the throne and unto

Speaker:

the Lamb. To him who sits

Speaker:

on the throne And unto

Speaker:

the Lamb be blessing,

Speaker:

and honor, and

Speaker:

glory, and power, forever. Forever.

Speaker:

Father God, I thank you so much for your word,

Speaker:

and your truth, and I thank you for

Speaker:

the invitation to the

Speaker:

exchange. We are blessed. Father, just

Speaker:

continue to reveal this to our hearts so

Speaker:

that we can offer you the song that

Speaker:

only you can bring. In Jesus' name, amen.
