#3 - An Interview with Sarah Clark, Pilot, Flight Instructor and Kick-Ass Empowered Female
Sarah Clark and her partner have a really interesting story. Both are pilots. Both are currently flight instructors. They are a same-sex couple. Women in pilots roles represent only around 6% of all commercial pilots, so Sarah has encountered plenty of sexist and gender-role stereotypes. And they live in a van together! Sarah's got some great advice for young women looking to get into a career as a pilot (but it really can apply to anyone in any setting!).

FEM Apparel was started by the father and step-mother of two girls. Concerned with societal pressures and inequalities, FEM Apparel was created with the idea of showcasing thought-provoking phrases to encourage discussion, highlight disparity and challenge the status quo to be inclusive and equal.
We currently support two different charities. For purchases made in Canada we donate to the Canadian Women’s Foundation. They are an organization that provides programming and support for four urgent issues: gender-based violence, economic security, girl’s empowerment and inclusive leadership. The foundations programs are created by women for women and tailored to the specific communities in which they are engaged.
For purchases made from anywhere else in the world we donate to UN Women. A branch of the United Nations, UN Women is a truly global platform that works with UN Member States to help them set, and achieve their goals for gender equality. They work with governments and civil society to design laws, policies, programmes and services needed to ensure that the standards are effectively implemented and truly benefit women and girls worldwide.
