Transcripts

Speaker A:

And now for something completely different.

David Spoon:

Here's what's coming up this hour on Today's Experience.

David Spoon:

It's wild and wonderful.

David Spoon:

What's gonna happen?

David Spoon:

We actually have no idea.

David Spoon:

Let's sit back and enjoy the ride.

David Spoon:

Can I get a Wowzer bowser?

David Spoon:

Wednesday, because God is in charge of this crazy bus called the Christian Journey.

David Spoon:

First, I want to share a message that was placed on my heart about 20 years ago.

David Spoon:

And I've included this material in one of the books and I've recently taught on it.

David Spoon:

And so you're sitting there thinking, dave, if you recently taught on it, why are you teaching it again?

David Spoon:

And I'm going to tell you why.

David Spoon:

I'm going to share a story with you in this introduction that will help you.

David Spoon:

It's the story of the preacher and the evangelist.

David Spoon:

The preacher asked the evangelist to come and do five nights of services at his church.

David Spoon:

The evangelist gets there and he starts off on Monday, and He preaches John 3:16.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

What a great service.

David Spoon:

He gets there on Tuesday.

David Spoon:

He preaches John 3:16.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

Another great service.

David Spoon:

He preaches on Wednesday.

David Spoon:

John 3:16.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

The pastor's starting to wonder.

David Spoon:

I wonder if he has anything else in there.

David Spoon:

So he calls him and says, hey, what are you going to preach on on Thursday?

David Spoon:

He said, I'm going to Preach on John 3:16.

David Spoon:

He goes, well, you know, brother, you've preached on John 3:16 three straight times, and I'm just wondering why you're going to preach on it again.

David Spoon:

And the evangelist said, I'm going to preach on it again until your people get it right.

David Spoon:

Ta da.

David Spoon:

Get that.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

So that's why you hear things repetitively.

David Spoon:

Come on.

David Spoon:

That was funny.

David Spoon:

That was a good one.

David Spoon:

Here it is, the bottom line.

David Spoon:

We have a phenomenal relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit through Jesus.

David Spoon:

We have it all through Jesus.

David Spoon:

But there's something else we need to recognize in our connection to God.

David Spoon:

Through Jesus, we have the answer to everything in life.

David Spoon:

And I make no reservation telling people what the answer to life is.

David Spoon:

The reason is simple.

David Spoon:

God has given us the answer to life.

David Spoon:

And only a fool thinks the answer is blowing in the wind.

:

David Spoon's life has been an experience.

:

While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.

:

Then David Spoon found Jesus Christ and his life completely changed.

:

The more he studied the gospel, the more he wanted to share his experiences with others.

:

After 35 years of ministry, David discovered a new path of service.

:

He joined Kam and this radio program began.

:

You're about to hear the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Local, national and heavenly Talk.

David Spoon:

Here's what else we're looking at during the show.

David Spoon:

Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics, entertainment and current events, personal revelations, spiritual observations.

David Spoon:

My life's insanity is.

David Spoon:

Oy vey.

David Spoon:

So much more.

David Spoon:

Now just remember, it's not professional radio.

David Spoon:

And just to make sure you know how much of professional radio it is not, we turn to the Terminator of professional radio, our very own Jammin Jacob.

David Spoon:

Jammin Jacob.

David Spoon:

Is the David Spoon Experience professional radio?

Jammin Jacob:

No, it is not, David.

Jammin Jacob:

And I'll be back.

David Spoon:

Like that one.

David Spoon:

The Terminator.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

I was thinking, is that too far out?

David Spoon:

And I thought, no, I don't think so.

Jammin Jacob:

Come with me if you want to live.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

David Spoon:

Hey, at least I didn't call you the Gilligan of professional radio.

David Spoon:

So, I mean, that's kind of nice.

David Spoon:

All right, so anyhow, you heard it there.

David Spoon:

It's not.

David Spoon:

It's just radio.

David Spoon:

It's like.

David Spoon:

Well, it's supposed to be like, everything's supposed to be done perfect.

David Spoon:

You're dealing with me.

David Spoon:

You're lucky if you get, you know, socks without a hole in them.

David Spoon:

Are you kidding me?

David Spoon:

So here's the bottom line.

David Spoon:

I want to know how you're doing, what's happening, how can we pray?

David Spoon:

We'll do teachings, we'll do share.

David Spoon:

I mean, I've got this thing I want to share, sure.

David Spoon:

But I want to make sure that people are connecting to the Lord, because that's just the best thing ever.

David Spoon:

So here it is.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can call us, honestly.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

And when you do that, that call, that phone call right there, put you in touch with.

David Spoon:

It puts you in touch with get ready.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

That puts you in touch with jamming.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

Talking to Jim and Jacob.

David Spoon:

Let me explain to you what that's like, because it's a very special thing.

David Spoon:

It's like when you wake up in the morning.

David Spoon:

Now think about this.

David Spoon:

When you wake up and you know, and you feel like you just got a phenomenal great night's sleep.

Jammin Jacob:

Thank you, David.

Jammin Jacob:

Happy Wednesday, and thank you for stalling a little bit.

David Spoon:

You're welcome.

David Spoon:

How was that?

David Spoon:

Was that pretty good?

David Spoon:

And I will let you know.

David Spoon:

I'm going to have to talk to you more.

David Spoon:

So I need a couple of more outstanding, excellent, great nights of sleep.

David Spoon:

So I'm going to have to talk to you more.

David Spoon:

All right, so we do have somebody on the phone.

David Spoon:

Not sure what's going on, but let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Eric:

Hello, David.

Eric:

This is Eric.

David Spoon:

Hello.

David Spoon:

How are you, brother?

Speaker A:

Hey.

Eric:

I'm doing just fine.

Eric:

And Curtis calling in just reminded me that it's my turn to call in.

Brother Roger:

It's my turn.

David Spoon:

I love it.

David Spoon:

I love it.

David Spoon:

It's like he reminded.

David Spoon:

I have to do that.

David Spoon:

That's so good.

David Spoon:

That's so good.

David Spoon:

Well, talk to me, brother.

David Spoon:

What's going on?

Eric:

Well, I was going to answer the trivia question, so I was trying to beat everybody else, so I have a feeling you didn't even ask the trivia question yet.

David Spoon:

But I can ask you if you want me to set it up for you.

David Spoon:

It's up to you.

David Spoon:

You tell me where you're comfortable, and then we'll go from there.

Eric:

I was kind of cheating there.

Eric:

A little bit by call.

Eric:

Question was asked.

Eric:

I don't want to give away my secrets, though, to all the other.

David Spoon:

I gotcha.

David Spoon:

Good call.

David Spoon:

All right, so we're gonna give this one to Eric.

David Spoon:

We're gonna help him out one way or another.

David Spoon:

So Elizabeth was six months pregnant when Mary visited her.

David Spoon:

How long did Mary stay?

David Spoon:

Because then after she left, the event took place.

David Spoon:

So how long was she there with Elizabeth?

David Spoon:

How many months?

David Spoon:

1, 2, 3.

David Spoon:

1, 2.

Eric:

To do some math right here.

Eric:

Public math here.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

It's a choice of four.

David Spoon:

One, two, three, or four months.

Eric:

Well, let's see if my.

Eric:

If my biology teaching was right.

Eric:

Let's see if she is.

Eric:

If Elizabeth was six months pregnant, then she must have been.

Speaker A:

Oh, I don't.

Eric:

Know, 1, 2, 3, or 4.

Eric:

I don't know.

Eric:

I.

David Spoon:

What would take the baby to full.

David Spoon:

What would take the baby to full term?

David Spoon:

Six months pregnant.

Eric:

That would be three.

Eric:

Three months.

David Spoon:

That is correct.

David Spoon:

Abundance.

David Spoon:

I knew we'd get you there.

David Spoon:

No, that's it.

David Spoon:

So she was there three months.

David Spoon:

We don't know how close that was.

David Spoon:

If it was like, okay, I'm leaving now.

David Spoon:

And then the next hour, she's like, ding, ding, ding.

David Spoon:

Baby time.

David Spoon:

I mean, we don't know that part.

David Spoon:

But what we do know is Mary was There for about three months she left and then Elizabeth went ding.

David Spoon:

Time.

David Spoon:

Time's up.

David Spoon:

The cooking is done.

David Spoon:

Let's go.

Eric:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Well, good job, brother.

Eric:

Well, I'm all excited to listen to the teaching again on what the answer is blowing in the wind.

David Spoon:

That is so good.

David Spoon:

Wait till you see what this tea.

David Spoon:

You've heard it before, my friend.

David Spoon:

You've heard it before.

David Spoon:

But the answer, it's blowing in the wind.

David Spoon:

Did you get the joke on the John 3:16 thing?

David Spoon:

Did you get that joke where you said, I'm like.

Eric:

I did.

Eric:

Okay, yes.

David Spoon:

I don't think a lot of people got that.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna keep preaching it till they get it right.

Eric:

That's right.

Eric:

I got it.

Eric:

That's why I want to hear it again because I want to get it right.

Eric:

Hey, thank you, David, and God bless you in the show.

David Spoon:

You too, my brother.

David Spoon:

Love you in the Lord, bro.

David Spoon:

All right.

Eric:

Love you and Lord.

Eric:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

God bless.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

All right, all right.

David Spoon:

So that's one of the reasons you would call in, right?

David Spoon:

You would call in so you could share answer trivia.

David Spoon:

He wants to hear what's blowing in the wind.

David Spoon:

I'm going to tell him.

David Spoon:

I'm going to tell everybody what it is.

David Spoon:

The answer is just not just blowing in the wind, but it is part of it.

David Spoon:

You're going to find out.

David Spoon:

And what's important about all this stuff is simply this.

David Spoon:

We do a lot of back and forth.

David Spoon:

We do a lot of praying for people.

David Spoon:

We do the trivia questions, we do prayer requests.

David Spoon:

We do all the things that we can do.

David Spoon:

But all of this comes to something.

David Spoon:

The goal of us, of what we're doing is a straightforward, very, very specific goal.

David Spoon:

hen we operate out of Hebrews:

David Spoon:

That encouragement is in simplest terms, it is in fellowship with one another, and it is in fellowship with the Lord.

David Spoon:

So I want to lay down something that just is inescapable, that is the answer to every issue you will ever have.

David Spoon:

And I want to lay it down in sections, in different groupings, or let's say like we used on Monday, in stages.

David Spoon:

And so here is stage one.

David Spoon:

And I don't want you to miss this.

David Spoon:

We're just going to go right into it.

David Spoon:

We're not going to do anything else.

David Spoon:

I'm going to go into this for a little bit.

David Spoon:

And this is probably the Lord just going redirect, do what I say.

David Spoon:

And we're like, yes, sir, yes, sir, here we go.

David Spoon:

Philippians 4:13.

David Spoon:

Everybody is highly aware of this passage.

David Spoon:

This passage is on sports jerseys and people's cars and things of that nature.

David Spoon:

What is Philippians 4:13?

David Spoon:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

David Spoon:

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

David Spoon:

So I want to talk about that, because here is the key.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the key.

David Spoon:

You might not even know it.

David Spoon:

In Philippians 4, 11, 12, Paul has just stated that I have learned to be content in verse 11 in all situations.

David Spoon:

So I want you to hear this.

David Spoon:

Listen to this teaching.

David Spoon:

It will change your life.

David Spoon:

I'm not even kidding.

David Spoon:

Paul is taking the time to say to the people at Philippi, he wants them to know he appreciates them giving.

David Spoon:

Okay, that's where he leads up to.

David Spoon:

That's what, 6 to 4, 16, 17, 18.

David Spoon:

Then to get to 4, 19.

David Spoon:

My God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in Christ.

David Spoon:

So you know, that's where it ends up.

David Spoon:

But before he gets there, he says this fascinating thing.

David Spoon:

He says, I've learned to be content in each and every situation.

David Spoon:

Now, I want you to think about that.

David Spoon:

I don't do that.

David Spoon:

I want to do that.

David Spoon:

I just don't do that.

David Spoon:

I really, really, really would like to be content in everything.

David Spoon:

I'm not lying to you.

David Spoon:

I really would like to have that satisfaction.

David Spoon:

In fact, when I pray for Julianne and Jared and their family, for Attebug, Isaiah, Anthony, Easton, Scott and Anna, because they're so restricted in their social interaction, because of Easton, I pray that their household would be filled with contentment, with satisfaction, because they have a strong limit.

David Spoon:

But what Paul says in verse 11 of Philippians is, I speak in regards, not that I speak in regard to need.

David Spoon:

He says, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.

David Spoon:

That's what he says in verse 11.

David Spoon:

Now watch this verse 12.

David Spoon:

I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound.

David Spoon:

I know everywhere and in all things.

David Spoon:

I have learned to be full and to be hungry.

David Spoon:

Did you hear that?

David Spoon:

I have learned to be full and to be hungry.

David Spoon:

Whatever the situation calls for.

David Spoon:

He's learned to be full.

David Spoon:

He's learned to be.

David Spoon:

If the situation calls to be hungry, he's learned to be hungry.

David Spoon:

If it calls to be full, he's learned to be full.

David Spoon:

He says, I both to abound and to suffer need.

David Spoon:

He knows how to function completely satisfied and also to be in a position where need needs to be brought in.

David Spoon:

But he knows how to do it and state content.

David Spoon:

Because of verse 13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

David Spoon:

See, actually, technically, theologically, that verse doesn't have to do with salvation.

David Spoon:

That has to do with your contentment in life.

David Spoon:

It has to do with your satisfaction.

David Spoon:

It has to do with, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

David Spoon:

Now, why is that?

David Spoon:

Because everything you go through, whether it's physical, financial, relationship, in the natural body, in the spiritual body, everything you go through with children, with parents, with siblings, everything you go through with work, with church, with your groups, with your different associations, with your friends, with strangers, everything you go through, the answer is Jesus.

David Spoon:

Oh, I know people.

David Spoon:

Whoa.

David Spoon:

No, no, no.

David Spoon:

The answer is Jesus.

David Spoon:

Why is that so important to understand?

David Spoon:

You will never get where you are trying to get on this side, but the most that you can get there is by connecting to Jesus.

David Spoon:

And everybody's trying to fill the gap, trying to do that.

David Spoon:

We'll do this, we'll do this, we'll do this, we'll do this.

David Spoon:

All those things that you and I do, they all fall short.

David Spoon:

Simply understanding that we can do it all, function the best at the top we can.

David Spoon:

Through him, through Jesus Christ, I can do all things.

David Spoon:

Through Christ, who strengthens me, I can get through everything.

David Spoon:

I can endure everything.

David Spoon:

I can put up with everything.

David Spoon:

I can survive, everything, I can be content.

David Spoon:

I can learn how to function in this position, in that position.

David Spoon:

Maybe it's a big house, maybe it's a small house.

David Spoon:

Maybe it's a great relationship.

David Spoon:

Maybe it's a hard relationship.

David Spoon:

Maybe their kids are great.

David Spoon:

Maybe your kids are lousy.

David Spoon:

And I mean it.

David Spoon:

Maybe it's any and every one of those things.

David Spoon:

Hey, you know what?

David Spoon:

The answer is Jesus.

David Spoon:

Every single time.

David Spoon:

No.

David Spoon:

No.

David Spoon:

If you don't think that you're going to hate heaven, how about that?

David Spoon:

Ouch.

David Spoon:

Dave, be nice about it.

David Spoon:

I am.

David Spoon:

I'm actually being nice about this.

David Spoon:

The encouragement is simply this.

David Spoon:

If you want to have the best possible life here and now, which will never compare to what we're going to, your answer is Jesus.

David Spoon:

And, you know, here's the thing that'll annoy you because it annoys me a lot.

David Spoon:

I can have as much of Jesus as I want.

David Spoon:

But let me rephrase that.

David Spoon:

I can have as much of Jesus as I seem to allow.

David Spoon:

Ouch.

David Spoon:

People are like going, stop talking, Dave.

David Spoon:

That's enough.

David Spoon:

Yeah, I know that's your answer.

David Spoon:

And we're going to go through that again and again.

David Spoon:

Wait till you see where we're going you're just going to go.

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

You'll see.

David Spoon:

All right, we're going to take a break and then come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the true station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break, we'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:

What is the David Spoon experience?

Pastor:

What's happening is the churches and educators and our government and everybody is too concerned about being politically correct.

Pastor:

And what's happened is the walls have fallen down and we need to rebuild them and we need to build them back.

Pastor:

And the only way we can do that is with God's people taking a stand.

David Spoon:

Yeah, that's exactly right.

David Spoon:

And I will say, especially in regards to the political correctness, it's just man's attempt to establish their own righteousness apart from God.

David Spoon:

And that's why it has so much confusion attached to it that nobody can figure out what's going on because it goes all over the place.

Pastor:

Well, the only Hope for America is not the Democratic party or the Republican party.

Pastor:

Our hope, my hope is in God and his people taking a stand this coming election season.

Pastor:

And let's get men and women in office.

Pastor:

And again, I'm not telling people to vote for, but we need to take a stand for God's truth and his righteousness.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

That's fantastic.

David Spoon:

I just want to thank you and extend a thank you to you for taking the time to come on the show, sharing with us, giving us that perspective.

David Spoon:

I appreciate it, and it was a privilege and an honor for me to have you on the show, sir.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

Pastor:

Thank you for inviting me.

Pastor:

God bless.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

God bless you, too.

David Spoon:

Ladies and gentlemen, that was pastor Franklin Graham.

David Spoon:

Jesus was a product of Mary and the holy spirit.

David Spoon:

We understand that, but Joseph, he married Mary, but he didn't have sexual relationships with her until when?

David Spoon:

Matthew, chapter one, verse 24 and 25.

David Spoon:

Specifically verse 25.

David Spoon:

Hello.

David Spoon:

Joseph married Mary.

David Spoon:

Joseph married Mary.

David Spoon:

Boy, you say that fast.

David Spoon:

Joseph married Mary.

David Spoon:

Just leave that alone.

David Spoon:

But he did not have any sexual relationship with her until Matthew 1:24,25.

David Spoon:

If you think you know the answer.

David Spoon:

Oh, Dave.

David Spoon:

Going out on a cliff.

David Spoon:

Going out on the cliff.

David Spoon:

That's right.

You don't need to be that specific.

David Spoon:

We're looking more for the general.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

People are getting into the specifics.

David Spoon:

Like it's okay.

David Spoon:

It's okay.

David Spoon:

Listen to what I'm saying.

David Spoon:

Joseph married Mary.

David Spoon:

It's so hard to say married Mary.

David Spoon:

Joseph married Mary.

David Spoon:

Joseph married Mary.

David Spoon:

That's weird.

David Spoon:

But he did not have any sexual relationship with her.

David Spoon:

He did not know her in the biblical sense until.

David Spoon:

Okay, so just leave it there.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

It shouldn't be that hard.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

David must increase dot org.

David Spoon:

I'm interested to see if anybody's going to call in and answer that question ironically.

David Spoon:

Here we go, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls.

David Spoon:

We're going to do our DNA.

David Spoon:

You ready?

David Spoon:

D stands for Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

Every day.

David Spoon:

Every day.

David Spoon:

Every day.

David Spoon:

Every day.

David Spoon:

Spend time with the Lord every day.

David Spoon:

Because you know what?

David Spoon:

You can't afford your life to be without that.

David Spoon:

And if your life doesn't have that consistently in it, you're living less than you can.

David Spoon:

And then it's your responsibility.

David Spoon:

And I'm not saying that you're like some bad, bad person, bad person.

David Spoon:

I'm saying you're robbing.

David Spoon:

You're literally robbing yourself.

David Spoon:

The enemy doesn't even have to do it.

David Spoon:

If you're not spending time with the Lord, you're doing it to yourself.

David Spoon:

You don't even have to worry about it.

David Spoon:

You need to spend time with the Lord every day.

David Spoon:

Unlike I've told you a thousand times, no matter how much time, doesn't matter what time, time, okay?

David Spoon:

His time, not your time, not you squeezing him in.

David Spoon:

His time that he's owed for giving you life.

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

D.

David Spoon:

And never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

So I came across something that was from my past teaching, and it had to do with the media.

David Spoon:

And I do think media, just so you can know, this is my take on it.

David Spoon:

Media stands for two things.

David Spoon:

Making everything.

David Spoon:

Making everything darker in America or making everyone dumber in America, either one of those two.

David Spoon:

And I do think that the media, that it tends to be that the media are false prophets.

David Spoon:

And I do think that they're actually talked about.

David Spoon:

And there's a great, great theological treaty on the media and the mass communication being false prophets, offering propaganda and so on and so forth.

David Spoon:

In the book of Revelation, it's what we get to.

David Spoon:

You're going to go, I never thought of it that way.

David Spoon:

It's very fascinating.

David Spoon:

But my point is simply this.

David Spoon:

You can't be ashamed of the word of God, even if you're just growing and learning and stepping into it and so on and so forth.

David Spoon:

You're going to encounter people that think of it differently, that think you're a wackadoodle, all that stuff.

David Spoon:

Who cares?

David Spoon:

God loves you.

David Spoon:

He wrote this love letter.

David Spoon:

to Revelation:

David Spoon:

Love God.

David Spoon:

Who cares if the world likes it?

David Spoon:

Who.

David Spoon:

Big deal.

David Spoon:

They're not doing anything for you anyhow except for making you feel bad about yourself.

David Spoon:

This is like, no, you Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words ever.

David Spoon:

And you will grow.

David Spoon:

And the Lord will teach you and strengthen you through his word.

David Spoon:

You know the word of God.

David Spoon:

The law of the Lord is perfect, able to restore the soul.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

You want access to that, not to the world.

David Spoon:

So d.

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

N.

David Spoon:

Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

A.

David Spoon:

Always be ready.

David Spoon:

Always be ready.

Jammin Jacob:

To serve.

David Spoon:

Always ready.

David Spoon:

Just ready for the Lord.

David Spoon:

Just ready.

David Spoon:

You think?

David Spoon:

Can I always be ready?

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

If you can't always be ready, then God is a liar.

David Spoon:

Uh.

David Spoon:

Oh, well, he's not a liar.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

David Spoon:

So you can be ready all the time?

David Spoon:

Yep.

David Spoon:

You can be.

David Spoon:

I know.

David Spoon:

Do we do that perfectly?

David Spoon:

No, but you can ask the Lord help me to be ready.

David Spoon:

And he will.

David Spoon:

That's what you want.

David Spoon:

D.

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

And never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

Always be ready to serve.

David Spoon:

Somebody is ready to answer the trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker A:

It's brother Roger again.

Speaker A:

I'm not gonna wait till Thursday.

David Spoon:

Wait, is that your new name?

David Spoon:

It's brother Roger again.

David Spoon:

I'm not gonna wait till Thursday calling.

David Spoon:

That's too long.

David Spoon:

Roger, I can't let you do that.

Speaker A:

I have to be the brave one in the bunch and stick my neck out.

David Spoon:

I love it.

David Spoon:

I.

David Spoon:

All right, brother, I'll set you up.

David Spoon:

Let's see if you get there.

David Spoon:

Joseph, he marries Mary.

David Spoon:

He didn't have any sexual relations with her until when?

Speaker A:

After the child was born.

David Spoon:

That is correct.

David Spoon:

Amanda, he very specifically did not know her until she had brought forth the.

David Spoon:

Her firstborn son.

David Spoon:

And that's the.

David Spoon:

Know her in the biblical sense.

David Spoon:

And so there it is.

David Spoon:

And so that's one of the great things.

David Spoon:

And yes, I understand there's a whole group of people that think that didn't happen.

David Spoon:

But then again, they should read their Bible.

David Spoon:

That would really help.

David Spoon:

Sorry.

David Spoon:

Too good.

David Spoon:

Too good to be true.

David Spoon:

How art thou?

David Spoon:

You're laughing.

David Spoon:

That's good.

Speaker A:

I had to do it.

David Spoon:

I'm glad you did.

Speaker A:

A brave one.

David Spoon:

Oh, I love it.

David Spoon:

I really, really love it.

David Spoon:

It's great, great, great job.

Speaker A:

And I wanted.

Speaker A:

I got a question about your last teaching.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Fire away.

Speaker A:

I want to know how I can get there.

David Spoon:

Ah, see, There it is.

David Spoon:

There it is.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

When I.

Speaker A:

When.

Speaker A:

Try to cast all my care on the Lord, somehow or another, I keep dipping back into the pool.

Speaker A:

That.

Speaker A:

That deep pool, that.

Speaker A:

That sea of forgetfulness.

Speaker A:

And I reach in there and I Grab it back.

Speaker A:

How can I quit doing that?

David Spoon:

You know that I'm going to answer that through the, the rest of the teaching I'm going to do.

David Spoon:

I can't just answer you in one step because if I do, it kind of undercuts the teach.

David Spoon:

But let me say this.

David Spoon:

But the first thing that, the first and most important point, and you've brought it to light, so let's at least use it in this.

David Spoon:

And that is simply this.

David Spoon:

You have to want it.

David Spoon:

In other words, that's where it starts.

David Spoon:

You have to say, you know what?

David Spoon:

That's what I want in my Christian walk.

David Spoon:

I've been doing this a long time.

David Spoon:

And you guys know I've been doing this for a long time and, and I have yet to get to a place where I go, gee, I've arrived.

David Spoon:

I mean, that's just not how that goes.

David Spoon:

It's like, I want more.

David Spoon:

Psalm 42, verse 1 says, as the deer pants for the water, brooks, so pants my soul for you, O God.

David Spoon:

My soul thirsts for God, the living God.

David Spoon:

That's where it starts.

David Spoon:

That's the starting point.

David Spoon:

Wanting.

David Spoon:

And what's important about it is people are like, well, that seems like it's so bizarre.

David Spoon:

It's like, let me explain something to you.

David Spoon:

You will never understand.

David Spoon:

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want until you want more of the Lord.

David Spoon:

That's it right there.

David Spoon:

And we're going to dive into the two key components to get there, right?

David Spoon:

How about that?

Speaker A:

You know, I, I'm, I make attempts and I, I'm going to continue to attempt to do it every time.

Speaker A:

And if I pick it back up, I, I give it back again.

Speaker A:

But you know, sometimes, and if you pick up too many of them, then you're break.

Speaker A:

I call it breaking this camel's back.

Speaker A:

You know, the load gets too hard and you break the camel's back, so you end up, hey, wait a minute, I took up too much again.

David Spoon:

And it's, it's, it's something that.

David Spoon:

I will say this.

David Spoon:

It is never ending in the pursuit.

David Spoon:

I will say that for sure.

David Spoon:

It is never until we're on the other side of glory.

David Spoon:

This is, this is what, this is how we got to go about it.

David Spoon:

And when we're on the other side of glory, it'll be.

David Spoon:

It's different altogether because we'll see him as he is.

David Spoon:

But until then.

Speaker A:

And then, then I want to blame everything else.

Speaker A:

Oh, well, wait a minute.

Speaker A:

It's my, it's my kids or my wife or it's my friend, or it's the job or it's.

Speaker A:

I spilled my drink, you know?

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

I spilled it on.

David Spoon:

I spilled it on the carpet.

David Spoon:

It's everybody else's fault.

David Spoon:

Does that sound a lot like Adam when he goes, what, because of her?

David Spoon:

It was because of her.

Speaker A:

You know, it's kind of like there's consequences that we don't want to face sometimes.

David Spoon:

That's right.

Speaker A:

I want to face my consequences and realize that God loves me in spite of myself, that he loves me in spite of myself.

Speaker A:

I got to keep reminding myself of that.

Speaker A:

He loves me in spite of myself, you know, I got to remind myself he loves me in spite of myself.

David Spoon:

That is correct.

Speaker A:

I have to repeat that a lot.

Speaker A:

Every day.

David Spoon:

Every day.

David Spoon:

Every day.

David Spoon:

You do.

David Spoon:

You're correct.

David Spoon:

That's good.

David Spoon:

You did a good job sharing that.

David Spoon:

That was really good.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Anyway, God bless you guys.

Speaker A:

I'll try to keep it till next Thursday.

David Spoon:

All right, brother.

Speaker A:

I had to be the brave one.

David Spoon:

Good job today.

David Spoon:

That was very good.

Speaker A:

I'll talk to you later.

David Spoon:

All right, God bless you.

David Spoon:

Bye Bye.

David Spoon:

All right, so Roger brings up the phenomenal point, and it is a phenomenal point.

David Spoon:

The point number one in this message is simply the answer is Jesus.

David Spoon:

The answer is more of Jesus.

David Spoon:

The answer is wanting more of Jesus is the step into that.

David Spoon:

In other words, if your solution in life is Jesus, then your step towards that solution should be first and foremost wanting.

David Spoon:

And just like we said, David saying, as the deer pants for the water, Brooks, so pants my soul for you, O God.

David Spoon:

My soul thirsts for God.

David Spoon:

For the living God, there is a hunger that needs to be inside every one of us.

David Spoon:

And if you don't have it, don't freak out.

David Spoon:

Ask God to build the hunger, and he will.

David Spoon:

And your soul will long for more and more of Jesus.

David Spoon:

But the irony is you can have as much as you want, or you can have as little of Jesus as you want, depending on how much of the heart we open up.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

You sure you want to stick around for the rest of this?

David Spoon:

Going to take our break, and then we're going to come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the true station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break.

David Spoon:

We'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

Pastor Franklin Graham:

What is the David Spoon experience?

Pastor Franklin Graham:

lf on a rocket ship racing at:

Pastor Franklin Graham:

Once there, you can sense the power and the presence of the majestic and the divine.

Pastor Franklin Graham:

You forget about your troubles and your fears, and you Just float in peace without a worry.

Pastor Franklin Graham:

In the world.

Pastor Franklin Graham:

There are no struggles, no pain, no discomfort.

Pastor Franklin Graham:

It's soothing, calm, comfortable.

Pastor Franklin Graham:

But then the show starts and you realize that none of that stuff has anything to do with the show.

Pastor Franklin Graham:

What were you thinking?

Pastor Franklin Graham:

The David Spoon experience.

Pastor Franklin Graham:

Only for the brave of heart and the board.

Cowpunch Sites:

The David Spoon experience.

Brother Roger:

They were sisters.

David Spoon:

That is correct, sir.

David Spoon:

You are right.

David Spoon:

And it's like, it's like I'm not saying I don't want us to, you understand, but like, yuck.

David Spoon:

That's all I could say.

David Spoon:

It's like, I'm sorry, that's all I can come up with.

David Spoon:

Like yowza.

Brother Roger:

Well, he was tricked into it.

David Spoon:

Yeah, yeah, I mean, I'm gonna go with that.

David Spoon:

But I mean, if you're the two sisters, you just got to be thinking, now wait a second here.

Brother Roger:

Can I tell a real quick joke?

Brother Roger:

I won't take up much time.

Brother Roger:

Hopefully I'll try to make it, try to make it biblical but not scriptural.

David Spoon:

I'm with you.

David Spoon:

That's about 99% of everything we do on jokes.

David Spoon:

Trust me.

Brother Roger:

I figured you understand to set this up.

Brother Roger:

Okay, to set this up, when I ask the question, you'll have to answer it to the first thing that pops into your head.

Brother Roger:

Otherwise it'll, it's.

Brother Roger:

It's kind of like those knock knock jokes.

Brother Roger:

You have to say knock knock, you know, or who's there?

Brother Roger:

So anyway, Paul was out in the Mediterranean Sea.

Brother Roger:

He was on sailing across it right before the storm hit.

Brother Roger:

He was writing some letters and he was sitting there writing and one of the sailors came up and looked at him and said, what are you doing?

Brother Roger:

I said, well, I'm writing some letters here.

Brother Roger:

And he, Paul's now put down his quill and parchment and looked up at the sailor and says, decided this is a time to talk to him.

Brother Roger:

He says, now here's the question, David, and this is where you have to answer.

David Spoon:

Okay.

Brother Roger:

What is a pirates favorite letter of the Alphabet?

Brother Roger:

And the sailor said, nah, that would.

David Spoon:

Be the C, matey.

Brother Roger:

The C.

David Spoon:

That's a good one.

David Spoon:

So it's not the R.

David Spoon:

No, it's the C.

David Spoon:

It's the C, matey.

Brother Roger:

Hey, hey.

Brother Roger:

I love your show.

Brother Roger:

Thanks, thanks for keeping it going.

David Spoon:

Appreciate it.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

Thank you for being such a great brother and a great support.

David Spoon:

We appreciate you.

David Spoon:

If Jesus was like, welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's KAA Man 770, the Truth Station.

David Spoon:

Here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Let's see if you guys can get this one.

David Spoon:

This is a pretty interesting question right here.

David Spoon:

What was the feast that Mary and Joseph went to Jerusalem for every year?

David Spoon:

John, Chapter two, verse five.

David Spoon:

What was the feast that Mary and Joseph went to Jerusalem for every year?

David Spoon:

It's during one of these particular holidays that they we misplaced the Son of God.

David Spoon:

Could you imagine his parents?

David Spoon:

Oh my, uh.

David Spoon:

Oh, we lost him.

David Spoon:

Anyway, what was the feast that they went up for once a year?

David Spoon:

Luke chapter two, verse 41.

David Spoon:

If you think you know the answer.

David Spoon:

Very good guess, Joanne.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

David must increase.org so what was the holiday, slash festival slash feast that Mary and Joseph went to Jerusalem for once a year?

David Spoon:

Your answer?

David Spoon:

Luke chapter 2, verse 41.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, I'm going to send you up to the website.

David Spoon:

The new book is not going to be ready for a couple of weeks because there's still editing and stuff we have to do.

David Spoon:

But the other written books and audiobooks are available on the website.

David Spoon:

We encourage you to check them out.

David Spoon:

If you cannot purchase them, you just send us an email, a contact, and we will get it for you.

David Spoon:

No questions asked.

David Spoon:

You don't have to worry about it.

David Spoon:

So there's no problem whatsoever.

David Spoon:

I mean, that's one of the things we like doing.

David Spoon:

Additionally, there is a place for prayer and prayer requests and praise reports on the website, plus a whole bunch of other goofy stuff and a place to give because giving enables us to keep doing the ministry.

David Spoon:

And if we don't get enough in the giving, we can't do it.

David Spoon:

There's not, you know, it's not like a weird thing.

David Spoon:

It's just like we've been doing it for.

David Spoon:

over:

David Spoon:

Okay, let's keep it going.

David Spoon:

That's all I'm saying.

David Spoon:

The Scripture for giving, Luke 6:38 given will be given to you, pressed down, taken together, running over, will be put into your laps for the measure you use.

David Spoon:

It will be measured back to you.

David Spoon:

That's the commitment that God gives.

David Spoon:

Check out the giving and all the other things at he must increase.org prayer request hemosincrease.org praise report looking to give to this ministry Confused by what's happening right now.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org he must increase.org you know, it's really funny that that played.

David Spoon:

I'll tell you why, because Noel and I were just talking yesterday, last night about how that the television shows back, like, in the.

David Spoon:

In the 60s and 70s, they were so much more simplified and they were just.

David Spoon:

They were.

David Spoon:

They were dumb to the point of fun.

David Spoon:

And now it's like, if there's not something that's overly sex or money or violence, it's like it doesn't have a chance.

David Spoon:

It's so weird.

David Spoon:

It's like it was so much more fun.

David Spoon:

I mean, like.

David Spoon:

And we're probably the only couple in the world that's done this, but we've actually sang the Green Acres theme song while we were watching it in our room one time.

Jammin Jacob:

See, I've never heard of that show Green Acres.

David Spoon:

You have to watch.

David Spoon:

You have to watch it, but you have to understand the simplicity of it.

David Spoon:

I mean, it's just so.

David Spoon:

I promise you, you will enjoy it.

David Spoon:

You just have to take your time, one episode at a time.

David Spoon:

Don't binge watch just one episode.

Jammin Jacob:

When did it come out?

David Spoon:

Early?

David Spoon:

I think it's the early 60s, actually.

David Spoon:

I'm not sure.

David Spoon:

It's probably about 64, 65.

David Spoon:

It's just a classic.

David Spoon:

God, it's just one of those kind of things.

David Spoon:

That's just my comment.

David Spoon:

I just want to make that because of that.

David Spoon:

All right, here's your trivia question.

David Spoon:

Don't give me a hard time just sharing.

David Spoon:

What was the feast that Mary and Joseph went to when they went to Jerusalem?

David Spoon:

What were they going to Jerusalem for?

David Spoon:

What was that feast called?

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

we will do a little bit of history, and then I'm getting into the teaching.

David Spoon:

We might not break again.

David Spoon:

We'll see.

David Spoon:

Let's go ahead and do history.

Jammin Jacob:

Let's go let faith in the past.

David Spoon:

Let's go let fake.

David Spoon:

All right, so these are the kind of things that I think are interesting.

David Spoon:

It's actually National Noodle Ring Day.

David Spoon:

And by that we would mean SpaghettiOs.

David Spoon:

It's like, okay, I'm all for it.

David Spoon:

See how we do the foodie ones.

David Spoon:

I mean, you can't.

David Spoon:

How do you miss that, right?

David Spoon:

It is also gingerbread house decorating day.

David Spoon:

Now, if it's a gingerbread house eating day, I might be a little more favorable, but it's decorating day.

Jammin Jacob:

Have you Ever built a gingerbread house?

David Spoon:

I have never built a gingerbread house.

David Spoon:

I've never done it.

Jammin Jacob:

I don't know if I'm bad at it, but one year, friends and family, we had like a gingerbread house building competition to see who had the best one.

Jammin Jacob:

And I got too close to being done and then mine just fell apart.

Jammin Jacob:

So I gave up.

Jammin Jacob:

I said, oh, that's it.

Jammin Jacob:

I'm not winning this competition.

Jammin Jacob:

It was so stressful.

Jammin Jacob:

I was like, I just want to eat this.

David Spoon:

That's hilarious.

David Spoon:

That's great.

David Spoon:

See, I would sabotage my own.

David Spoon:

That would be.

David Spoon:

I'd be like, is this a load bearing wall?

David Spoon:

I just eat it.

David Spoon:

You know what I'm saying?

Jammin Jacob:

It was just funny because everyone was so excited.

Jammin Jacob:

Everyone was opening up, getting all their tools and everything.

Jammin Jacob:

Then we got about 30 minutes in and everyone was just over it.

Jammin Jacob:

They were like, this is stressful.

David Spoon:

Being born and raised Jewish.

David Spoon:

I really get to be selective at Christmas.

David Spoon:

It's so nice.

David Spoon:

he television show Greenacres:

David Spoon:

Okay, there you go.

David Spoon:

All right, so you already have your trivia question.

David Spoon:

What did they go up there for?

David Spoon:

Now let's get into this teach.

David Spoon:

And this is really good.

David Spoon:

And if you don't call in for the answer, he'll throw a ping, ping pong ball and I'll give you the answer.

David Spoon:

But here's the thing I want to talk about, and this is like the most important part of this whole thing.

David Spoon:

So I'm going to kind of go over a couple of passages, maybe a little faster than normal, so that you can know what's going on.

David Spoon:

In Acts 17, verse 26.

David Spoon:

Okay, well, let's just use 25 and just bear with me as we go through it.

David Spoon:

It says this.

David Spoon:

He is not served by human hands as if he needed anything.

David Spoon:

God does not need you.

David Spoon:

He wants you.

David Spoon:

There's a difference.

David Spoon:

Rather, He Himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

David Spoon:

Every breath from God.

David Spoon:

Verse 26.

David Spoon:

For from one man he made all the nations that he should inhabit the whole world.

David Spoon:

And he marked out their appointed times in history and their boundaries for their lands.

David Spoon:

Verse 27.

David Spoon:

God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.

David Spoon:

The Lord coordinated mankind so mankind would reach out for God.

David Spoon:

He didn't want sin to be a part of it.

David Spoon:

But mankind has this rebellious streak.

David Spoon:

But the coordination from the Lord for the creation of humanity.

David Spoon:

If you look at Acts:

David Spoon:

God wants to be pursued.

David Spoon:

I know people don't like that.

David Spoon:

Oh, that's too bad.

David Spoon:

God wants you to come in consistent prayer.

David Spoon:

You know, God could answer every one of your prayers as Johnny on the spot, every single moment without you uttering a word, without you even ever thinking about it or saying about it.

David Spoon:

Since the scripture does tell us before we call, he will answer.

David Spoon:

But the Lord loves the engagement.

David Spoon:

And we forget we're so wrapped up in the circumstance.

David Spoon:

But God is wrapped up in the fellowship, and that's what we're missing, that that's what he wants.

David Spoon:

And in First Corinthians 3, 9, it says, for we are co workers in God's service.

David Spoon:

God wants the partnership.

David Spoon:

And so when you talk about what is it that gets us more of Jesus?

David Spoon:

Point number one is absolutely this wanting more.

David Spoon:

But point number two is recognizing that this is something that God wants.

David Spoon:

In Mark 16, 19, 20, it says, when the Lord Jesus had finished talking with him, he was taken up to heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God's right hand.

David Spoon:

And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.

David Spoon:

This is a partnership on a permanent basis.

David Spoon:

And this is what the Lord wants from you and I.

David Spoon:

And we don't seem to understand, or at least I don't seem to remember, or let's just use what Roger again said.

David Spoon:

I seem to do it and then I seem to let go of it and drop right back into the other thing.

David Spoon:

It's because we tend to forget that what God is wanting out of this, we're wanting an answer.

David Spoon:

We're wanting solution.

David Spoon:

We're writing a resolution to the issue.

David Spoon:

God is wanting the fellowship, and we're missing that.

David Spoon:

We're trying to get something from it.

David Spoon:

He's trying to get us.

David Spoon:

Tommy Barnett once said this.

David Spoon:

He said all these things that people think that God is trying to do.

David Spoon:

All God is trying to do is capture your heart.

David Spoon:

Isn't that beautiful?

David Spoon:

All God is trying is capture your heart.

David Spoon:

So the first step, or the first stage is recognizing Jesus.

David Spoon:

He's the answer.

David Spoon:

You got a question?

David Spoon:

Jesus is the answer.

David Spoon:

The second thing is desiring, building that, growing in that, learning that to have a passion to be with the Lord.

David Spoon:

That's what he wants.

David Spoon:

That's why he wants to spend eternity with us.

David Spoon:

And in understanding that, that passion we should have, we should recognize Stage one, Jesus is the answer.

David Spoon:

Stage two, wanting more of Jesus is what you need to do.

David Spoon:

First stage Two or stage three, is recognizing.

David Spoon:

That's what God wants.

David Spoon:

He wants a partnership with you.

David Spoon:

He wants you.

David Spoon:

He doesn't want your money.

David Spoon:

He doesn't want my.

David Spoon:

I gave up all the money.

David Spoon:

That's not what he wanted from me.

David Spoon:

He wanted me.

David Spoon:

That's the love.

David Spoon:

Remember when you first heard the love of God?

David Spoon:

That God loved you so much that Jesus died for you.

David Spoon:

And for a moment there, you were thinking, man, somebody loves me.

David Spoon:

And you were like, yep, I'm in.

David Spoon:

See, the love of God hasn't diminished since then.

David Spoon:

Maybe our love towards him is diminished or our understanding of his love is diminished.

David Spoon:

In fact, the Lord's love is perfect.

David Spoon:

It doesn't waver like we do.

David Spoon:

And he wants us.

David Spoon:

I don't know how to say this in a better way, because I can't communicate it in a better way because I'm a person.

David Spoon:

God, he's not looking for what you can give him or get him or do for him.

David Spoon:

He's looking for you.

David Spoon:

That's what he's looking for.

David Spoon:

Number one, Jesus is the answer.

David Spoon:

Number two, wanting Jesus is the beginning.

David Spoon:

Number three.

David Spoon:

That's what God wants.

David Spoon:

You got to be thinking, okay, I know there's a fourth step.

David Spoon:

Yes, there is.

David Spoon:

Let me read this.

David Spoon:

I love this.

David Spoon:

I'm sorry.

David Spoon:

This is better than me every day.

David Spoon:

Every day.

David Spoon:

Any day.

David Spoon:

Every day.

David Spoon:

Better than any teacher anywhere, anywhere on the planet.

David Spoon:

What I'm about to read you.

David Spoon:

Exodus 30:3.

David Spoon:

Moses said to the Lord, you've been telling me, lead these people, but you've not let me know whom you will send with me.

David Spoon:

You said, I know you by name and have found favor with you.

David Spoon:

If you're pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you.

David Spoon:

Remember that this nation is your people.

David Spoon:

So here's Moses, after he's spending all this time with God.

David Spoon:

He's like, you know what?

David Spoon:

If you're really happy with me, you gotta teach me your ways.

David Spoon:

I really wanna know you.

David Spoon:

Verse 14.

David Spoon:

The Lord replied, my presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.

David Spoon:

And then Moses said to him, if your presence doesn't go with, don't send us up from here.

David Spoon:

We're not going nowhere.

David Spoon:

Verse 16.

David Spoon:

How will anyone know that you're pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us?

David Spoon:

What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?

David Spoon:

And the Lord said to Moses, I will do that very thing you've asked because I am pleased with you, and I know you by name.

David Spoon:

Verse 18.

David Spoon:

Then Moses said, show me your glory.

David Spoon:

Look at Moses.

David Spoon:

It's not enough for Moses.

David Spoon:

He's already spent the time up on the mountain.

David Spoon:

His face is radiating.

David Spoon:

All that stuff's going on.

David Spoon:

He's like, nope, I need more.

David Spoon:

No, no, no, I need more.

David Spoon:

I need more.

David Spoon:

Verse 19.

David Spoon:

The Lord said, I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name in your presence.

David Spoon:

And I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

David Spoon:

But he said, you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.

David Spoon:

Then the Lord said, this is a place near me that you may stand on a rock when my glory passes by.

David Spoon:

I'll put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.

David Spoon:

Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back, but my face must not be seen.

David Spoon:

Moses wanted more.

David Spoon:

Number one.

David Spoon:

Jesus is the answer.

David Spoon:

Number two, wanting Jesus is the key at the beginning of the journey.

David Spoon:

Number three, understanding that this is what God wants from you.

David Spoon:

Number four.

David Spoon:

Never satisfied.

David Spoon:

In this context, you just want more.

David Spoon:

You just want more.

David Spoon:

Ironically, it all goes back to Jesus is the way that we become satisfied.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me was about being satisfied because of Jesus.

David Spoon:

You see how it all circles back to the top?

David Spoon:

It's amazing.

David Spoon:

I can't even teach this good enough.

David Spoon:

Jesus is the answer.

David Spoon:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, which has to do with being fully content in Jesus passionately pursuing him as number two.

David Spoon:

Number three, recognizing that's exactly what God wants.

David Spoon:

Number four.

David Spoon:

More, Lord, more.

David Spoon:

Because the answer to every issue and every situation for every person on the earth is more of God.

David Spoon:

Every nation, every city, every town, every state, every family, every person.

David Spoon:

The answer is more of God.

David Spoon:

All that other stuff is rubbish.

David Spoon:

Who cares what the media says?

David Spoon:

Who cares what the politicians say?

David Spoon:

Who cares what the academics say?

David Spoon:

And if you say you care at all about Hollywood, you need to get therapy.

David Spoon:

The bottom line is the answer is more, more, more.

David Spoon:

I want more of you, Lord.

David Spoon:

I need you to be with me more.

David Spoon:

I need to know your presence more.

David Spoon:

I need to know your mind more.

David Spoon:

I need you to teach me your ways.

David Spoon:

You know, I pray that actually that prayer every morning.

David Spoon:

I pray that.

David Spoon:

I say, lord, let your perspective overwhelm my perspective so I can have the right perspective.

David Spoon:

I pray that every morning.

David Spoon:

That is your answer.

David Spoon:

That Is your key four things.

David Spoon:

Now, I'm gonna answer the trivia because I'm not gonna let anybody break in at this point.

David Spoon:

So I'm just going to answer that.

David Spoon:

You know that trivia, because I just want you to.

David Spoon:

Did we do any.

David Spoon:

We just still have a trivia out there.

David Spoon:

I can't even remember.

David Spoon:

I'm just flying around here.

David Spoon:

Yeah, we do, don't we?

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

What was that holiday?

David Spoon:

It was Passover.

David Spoon:

It was Passover.

David Spoon:

They went up there once a year.

David Spoon:

Okay, that's the trivia.

David Spoon:

Here's the answer to the message.

David Spoon:

Number one, Jesus.

David Spoon:

I can do all things through Jesus.

David Spoon:

Specifically, finding contentment in every situation.

David Spoon:

Number two, wanting that as a passionate part of us.

David Spoon:

Number three, recognizing that's what God wants us to want.

David Spoon:

And number four, fully understanding that the answer then becomes more show me your glory.

David Spoon:

Take me deeper in.

David Spoon:

You think you're deep now?

David Spoon:

How would you like to be so deep in the Lord that you stand before the Lord and your knees buckle like John?

David Spoon:

That's what we should want.

David Spoon:

I would rather be that way and plop down on the floor and have him go, don't be afraid and pick me up.

David Spoon:

I'd rather have that than not have that.

David Spoon:

That's the key.

David Spoon:

And what do you think is going to be heaven?

David Spoon:

That.

David Spoon:

Well, maybe we should bring a little bit of heaven into Earth.

David Spoon:

After all, we can access the Presence of God 24, 7.

David Spoon:

Especially if we've read Hebrews 10, 19, 22.

David Spoon:

Jesus is the answer.

David Spoon:

Wanting more, knowing that's what God wants.

David Spoon:

Show me your glory.

David Spoon:

All right, folks, you've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here.

David Spoon:

I'm KAM 770, the true station here in Texas.

David Spoon:
