[00:00:43] Hi and welcome to another episode of Victory in Mind Podcast, your guide to living each day with purpose. I'm your host, Waceke Wambaa. We continue with our focus on things, people, places, food, ideas that carry special significance during the summer, as they pertain to living [00:01:00] with victory in mind.

Now, summer is ripe with the flavors and fragrances of food, friendship and fun.

[:

And yes, we do enjoy technologies to connect remotely, but also with the intentionality of new opportunities to physically meet, spend time together and create new memories. The kind that leave you scratching your head in, "What were you thinking?" [00:02:00] kinda memories. Or the kind that make you second guess whether gravity really exists. The kind that constitute the deepest treasures of your heart.

That's what I'm talking about.

[:

So globally, we were unable to socialize, unable to meet exchange ideas, fooleries, absurdities and the treasures of the pleasures of our lives created as we come together and spend time with one another... [00:03:00] in our friendship groups or as one-on-one friends. Just kinda meeting and hanging out right.

[:

Now as we experiencing the first full summer after the global lockdown and we are enjoying this feeling of freedom, some of us are like children in a candy store. It's almost like we're overstimulated by all this right? And then others are on a slower gear yet appreciating this freedom that we once took for granted. And so we [00:04:00] rub shoulders once more with one another. We are hugging easier instead of looking at each other and wondering, should I hug you should I not hug you?

[:

[00:04:39] So my question to you is this, what is your intentionality this summer with reconnecting with your friends, your cohort? Those of whom you might have been connected to during the lockdown, but it was maybe a remote connection or barely seeing each other. Those of [00:05:00] whom your communication trickled down to desert dry or otherwise. What does intentionality of purpose look like on the friendship plane?

[:

[00:05:51] It also leads me to ask myself and you how we are reaching out and reconnecting with those from the past, from [00:06:00] the present and forming new connections for the future. This life is but a vapor, it's here today and gone tomorrow. These friendship bonds are so worth it.

Now of note, we also know that the issue of mental health has been magnified with the lockdown that most of us have come out of. Keeping this in mind, who this summer are you reaching out to, to reconnect with, to let them know they are valuable this side of the grave.

[:

We are in a moment of time where we can be someone's sunshine. We have no idea what our reaching out can do for someone out there. So shine as you strengthen your friendship bonds, let this [00:07:00] be a summer you will remember for the right reasons.
