In her work, she uses these old narratives in a more contemporary context.\n\nNature also plays a central role in Merchant\u2019s work, which is emphasized by the use of organic and unsaturated color forms. She uses watercolour and collage, is inspired by botanical drawings and popular art of the seventeenth century, while using iconic symbols and images of different cultures, to try to understand the diaspora, and memory.\n\nIn this episode we will talk about her lockdown in India far from her husband and home in Barcelona.
