Croy was named the California Baptist University men’s basketball head coach in the spring of 2013 and completely revitalized the program. In six years, Croy’s Lancers boast a 148-44 overall record, including an 87-14 mark at home. During the Croy era, the Lancers have gone to the NCAA Division II tournament every year, from 2014-18, and spent 59 weeks in the NABC Top-25 Poll. CBU has won PacWest regular season and conference tournament titles, including two first-place finishes in conference. CBU’s finished its first Division I season with 16 wins in 2018-19, which is the most by a first-year NCAA Division I program that is considered an RPI counter during the four-year transition process. The team also became just the second first-year D-I program to qualify for postseason play by qualifying for and hosting the first round of the 2019 College Basketball Invitational. Prior to CBU, Croy spent the past three years as the lead assistant coach at NCAA Division I St. Mary’s. During his time working under Coach Randy Bennett, the Gaels went 80-22 overall, winning two regular-season West Coast Conference championships and making two NCAA Tournament appearances. Before St. Mary’s, Croy spent five years as the head coach at Citrus College in Glendora, Calif., along with current Lancer staff Coach Asprilla, Coach Dunaj and Coach Wellman. During his stint there, he quickly staked his claim as one of the state’s best junior college coaches compiling a 130-35 record, which included the program’s first-ever state championship in 2008. Breakdown 1:00 - Transitioning from Division-2 to Division-1 Program 4:00 - Rulings to Qualify for NCAA Tournament 5:00 - Things That Helps Him Create Separation at California Baptist 8:00 - Trusting His Own Work 10:00 - Value in Seeking Things that can Challenge Him 14:00 - Supporting Player's Skill Development 16:00 - Interference Equals Performance 19:00 - False Notion 23:00 - Conversation 26:00 - Create Speaking Opportunities 31:00 - Balance between Aggression and Poise 34:00 - Sharing and Absorbing Helpful Insights Rick Croy’s Bio Bio: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Croy Twitter: https://twitter.com/coachcroy Basketball Immersion Website: http://basketballimmersion.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/bballimmersion?lang=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/basketballimmersion Facebook: https://facebook.com/basketballimmersion

See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
https://artwork.captivate.fm/130b94fc-ff68-4895-84bc-f2ee6b590c8a/7096f5ff816bb3c7372b63340666f3d26e0732a6875d9fa9644fa3343d91905.jpeg"}
