Devon said, \u201cIf they had used zip ties instead of bandanas it would have been a lot harder to escape.\u201d\r\n\n  Thank you for leaving him alone to go off to try the ATM card.\r\n\n\n\r\n\nThen I felt I should thank them for kidnapping him.\r\n\n\r\n\n\r\n\nI paused thinking, \u201cThat is ridiculous.\u201d\r\n\nI paused again and pondered.  Am I grateful that this experience happened?  Could it have happened without the kidnappers?\r\n\nImagine if Devon had lied to us, gone to Mexico had a grand adventure and come home with us being none the wiser for it.   Then this would have been a very different learning adventure for Devon, not a positive one.   More \u201cadventures\u201d would have been taken with possibly much worse outcomes.\r\n\nSo I did express gratitude that this experience happened.
