Her bio reads like a movie script.<br />\r\n<br />\r\nAs a teenager, Tessa had the honor of performing her own composition (entitled \u2018In Defense of the Environment) at the Moscow Conservatory, and wanted to be a geneticist.<br />\r\n<br />\r\nAs her interests expanded to Tibetan music and language, she headed to Lhasa with a backpack to do enthomusicology research.<br />\r\n<br />\r\nAfter being attacked by a sex trafficker in Tibet and successfully fighting him off, Tessa settled in Chicago.<br />\r\n<br />\r\nIn Chicago, she started a band working with her hero Ian McDonald of King Crimson and Foreigner, and drummer Alan Lake, who has played and recorded with Madonna, Brian Ferry, Julian Lennon, Ministry, Brian Wilson and Sam Moore from Sam And Dave.<br />\r\n<br />\r\nAfter a few years in Chicago, Tessa moved to New York and started a new band, Tessa Makes Love, along with occasional collaborations by Ian McDonald.<br />\r\n<br />\r\nIn 2013, her music video \u201cSpente Le Stelle\u201d received over a million very useful views on YouTube although the jury is still out on how many people realized that the video was a satire making fun of sexual objectification. Alas, the world keeps spinning, and it is still imperfect!<br />\r\n<br />\r\nIn 2016, Tessa started Coalition for Artistic Dignity and organized a conference in Brooklyn dedicated to\u00a0artistic dignity, social power and corporate responsibility.<br />\r\n<br />\r\nIn early 2017, she released an album titled \u2018Tessa Fights Robots,\u2019 you can listen and buy it\u00a0here.<br />\r\n<br />\r\nSince the English language only has so many words, her blog is also called\u00a0\u2018Tessa Fights Robots.\u2019<br />\r\n<br />\r\nBoth the album and the blog are about being human\u00a0in the world\u00a0of technology, big data, and machine-like people.","thumbnail_width":300,"thumbnail_height":300,"thumbnail_url":"https://artwork.captivate.fm/2b9f5e98-53e2-4dff-a990-0f977a308696/logo_squish_full_3000.png"}
