In my youth, I learned to write from my\n\nheart and immerse into my deepest feelings and at\n\ntimes was hesitant and ashamed to admit my families\n\ndark, malevolent past and reveal my worst nightmares.\n\nThe story of Heir of the Witch was birthed from my own\n\nchildhood happenings. My grandmother on my paternal\n\nside, was a formidable witch. I was told she sold her soul\n\nto the devil and couldn't die until the spirit of the\n\ndarkness released her ghost only after she passed the\n\n\"gift\" to someone else. Until this day, we do not know\n\nwho she passed this \"gift\" on to as we no longer\n\nassociate with that side of the family for fear of\n\ncondemnation.\n\nMy father abandoned us when I was only 1 year old. His\n\nactions were a result of my grandmother's \"work\" or so\n\nshe claimed. I grew up with vividly, terrifying nightmares\n\nand a heaviness that carried though my waking\n\nmoments that made me consistently fearful and weary\n\nof my surroundings. It wasn't until I spent several\n\nmonths in a monastery continuously praying that this\n\nheaviness was lifted and the nightmares went away.\n\nI've always felt a deep shame and never wanted to\n\nadmit that my paternal grandmother was a witch. But\n\nshame cannot survive in the same space as\n\nvulnerability. So I started to write\u2026. Write what I know,\n\nwrite what I fear, write from where it hurts. Something\n\ncathartic happened through the process of producing\n\nthis film.
