\n[00:02:20] Matt unpacks the definition of \u201cunity\u201d referencing definitions and synonyms such as, \u201cbeing one\u201d, \u201carranged as a whole of parts\u201d, \u201csingleness or continuity of purpose\u201d. He references the Greek word \u201chanatos\u201d that translates as \u201cunanimity, agreement, or accord\u201d.
\n[00:04:36] \u201cDivision, disunity, split, segregation, discord, confusion, etc.\u201d \u2013 Matt contrasts unity with its antonyms and calls our attention to their relevance in the current cultural climate.
\n[00:09:25] Matt takes a moment to note the important of exegesis (\u201cexiting\u201d out of scripture) in interpreting the Word of God.
\n[00:11:55] \u201cThe message that Jesus died wasn\u2019t just for the Jewish church, but for the gentiles as well.\u201d
\n[00:12:30] Matt\u2019s circles around this concept of unity, reminding us that believers \u2013 the church \u2013 are called to be the body of Christ, requiring a fundamental kind of unity for a body to fit and function together.
\n[00:14:20] \u201cAs we are being built together as a living breathing body, sometimes we knock the mortar of one another.\u201d
\n[00:15:46] Matt references some parallel supporting scriptures, including Eph. 1:17-18, Rom. 8:28-30, Col. 1:10, and Eph. 2:8-10, highlighting the calling and vocation of believers of one purpose \u2013 unified.
\n[00:15:02] Point #6: From Ephesians 3:19b \u2013 \u201cPray for the power to receive God\u2019s fullness\u201d. Matt references 1 John 3:2, that when Jesus appears, we will be like Him for we will see Him as He truly is.
\n[00:20:04] \u201cToday, you must choose to be chosen.\u201d
\n[00:22:55] Every believer is given a different gift, but they all must join together and complement one another rather than oppose or ignore one another.
\n[00:25:28] Matt points out that the key to unity is the model of Christ on the cross \u2013 that in this kind of humility alone can unity be found among believers.
