Into the deeper parts of Philippians, we travel to understand what things that the Lord doth require of us. And we learn to apply God’s timeless truths in our lives. We seek to bring glory to God in the name of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. First up, the apostle Paul demands and commands his readers to rejoice in the Lord, (16 times in this epistle alone), but he does it, while he is in jail! Next, repetition can seem boring. I mean really, how many times do you and I need to hear that we should walk in Love, Joy, and Peace? As many times as it takes…until we actually do it. And finally, circumcision has a tell, like a tell in poker. That’s a change of behavior. Philippians lists three of them. But remember, it will always come down to too much flesh! Can you say ouch?
