She joined the staff with coaching great John Beilein last fall. This hiring made Lindsay the first NCAA women's basketball coach to move onto the NBA. Gottlieb was coveted by the NBA because of her attention to detail and expertise of pick roll coverages.\n\n\n\n\nBefore the NBA, Gottlieb was the head coach at the University of California Berkley from 2011-2018. At Cal coach Gottlieb lead her teams to an average of 22 wins a season and 7 NCAA Tournament appearances. Along with that, the golden bears reached an NCAA Final Four and took home the Pac-12 title in 2012. Gottlieb also managed to balance team success and player development. In her short tenure, she had 5 of her players drafted by the WNBA.\n\n\n\n\nAt just 30 years old Gottlieb got her first head coaching job at UC Santa Barbara in 2008. In her first season, the team went 15-1 in the conference and made it to the NCAA Tournament. Throughout her short three year stint, she won two conference championships at UCSB.\n\n\n\n\nGottlieb has an incredible track record in her young coaching career. This includes 9 postseason appearances and 3 conference titles. Lindsay will also continue to make waves in the NBA this year with a young and exciting team.\u00a0\n\n\n\n\nBreakdown\n\n1:00 - How to Defend Ball Screen\n\n3:30 - Screen Coverage\n\n6:30 - Beliefs on Ball Screen Defense\n\n10:30 - Tag\n\n13:00 - Making an Impact Offensively\n\n15:30 - Aggressive Coverage\n\n18:00 - Philosophy of Self Scouting\n\n22:00 - Exposing Analytics in the NBA\n\n25:00 - Pick and Roll Defense\n\n28:00 - Triple Switch\n\n29:30 - Icing the Pick and Roll\n\n32:00 - Going Under the Screen\n\n34:00 - Focus on Being More Aggressive\n\n36:00 - Recovery Angle and Trapping\n\n39:30 - Run and Drawn the Ball Screen\n\n42:00 - Teaching Ball Screen\n\n45:00 - Connect with the Ball\n\n48:00 - Off-Ball Defenders\n\n53:00 - Takeaways from the NBA\n\n55:00 - Conclusion\n\n\n\n\nLindsay Gottlieb\u2019s Bio:\n\nBio: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lindsay_Gottlieb\n\nTwitter: https://twitter.com/CoachLindsayG\n\n\n\n\nBasketball Immersion\n\nWebsite: http://basketballimmersion.com/\n\nTwitter: https://twitter.com/bballimmersion?lang=en\n\nYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/basketballimmersion\n\nFacebook: https://facebook.com/basketballimmersion\n\n\n\n\nBetOnline Website:\n\nWebsite: www.betonline.ag\n\n\n\n\nBest in the West Video Series\n\nBest in the West Website: http://bestinthewestclinic.com/\n\nSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.","thumbnail_width":300,"thumbnail_height":300,"thumbnail_url":"https://artwork.captivate.fm/96d4ad79-9b84-4c03-b050-108c9293fe4c/135e2835370674a32c6c6235a6a3e54f4f6110ae3868283f018ade21bc307ab.jpeg"}
