Obviously, this is not about the task itself, and lends itself to procrastination because in the end, you\u2019d rather not risk embarrassment or judgment. And so you don\u2019t move; you are running to stand still. We should instead shift our focus and goals to task orientation, which is the performance of the act itself. It sounds simplistic, but the obstacle is that we are all wired to emotionally protect ourselves, and we will do this subconsciously. You may indeed be acting (or not acting) out of ego orientation, or another type of psychological defense mechanism.
\n
Sometimes we don\u2019t take action because we don\u2019t know how to focus our energy, but other times, we remain stagnant out of fear or avoidance.
\n
#egoorientation #task #goals #motivation #focus #employee
\n
Get the audiobook on Audible or Amazon.
\n
#patrickking #thoughts #laziness #action #intentions #tomorrow #brain #productivity #experience #russellnewton #newtonmg
\n
Visit Patrick King Consulting or Russell Newton at Newton Media Group.
\n\n--- \n\nThis episode is sponsored by \n\u00b7 Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app\n\n--- \n\nSend in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/patrickkingconsulting/message","thumbnail_width":300,"thumbnail_height":300,"thumbnail_url":"https://artwork.captivate.fm/80715072-41bb-4abb-9bb5-bab3d3271b6a/3427578-1590588177214-aa6340ad5d3f3.jpg"}
