It\u2019s been some 10 years since Cottonwood, California\u2019s Justin Davis rode into the box at the Thomas & Mack with Blaine Linaweaver.
But in that decade, Davis has made two iconic horses\u2014both mares, not too coincidentally\u2014in Lil Kim and Shakira. He\u2019s won the Columbia River Circuit Finals a couple times, and he\u2019s been on the brink of an NFR trip more than once\u2014to no avail. So at 31 years old, Davis is smashing down his hat on a career in sales, while seasoning the next great mare to come through his horse program. He and long-time friend Brandon Beers are circuit rodeoing and amateur rodeoing when both men\u2019s thriving business careers allow, and they\u2019re both using their long-time industry connections to help them excel. Davis stopped to talk with us between visits to feed yards and ranches, I don\u2019t think you\u2019ll be disappointed by the conversation.
