(You can still grab the recordings, templates, and resources at this link through the end of January.)<br />\nAnd during this workshop, we used several assessment tools I provided them to determine the areas of focus based on recognized pain points the PMO could solve.<br />\nThen, we worked to define solutions to those pain points.<br />\nAnd that\u2019s where it got interesting\u2026<br />\nMany PMO leaders mistakenly see symptoms of an underlying problem and start building solutions around those symptoms instead of addressing the root cause.<br />\nThis is dangerous.<br />\nSo, when you hear\u2026\u201cWe need to fix project management.\u201d\u201cProjects take too long.\u201d\u201cProjects cost too much.\u201d\u201cResources aren\u2019t getting enough done.\u201d\u201cWhy can\u2019t we ever deliver our projects as planned?\u201d<br />\nAnd you start to fix\u2026The templatesThe toolsThe processThe project managers<br />\n\u2026but nothing gets better\u2026<br />\nIt\u2019s because the underlying root causes are still there.<br />\nWe put a band-aid on when we needed surgical intervention.<br />\nIn this episode, you will uncover the fantastic opportunity you have in the PMO to fix the real underlying problems and make the need to \u201cfix project management\u201d go down significantly.\u00a0<br />\n\u2026and next week, I\u2019m going to share with you ways you can improve the other end of the process.
