Shownotes

Many of us think of play as the opposite of serious learning – something children naturally grow out of as they get older. But what if we've got it completely wrong?

In this episode, Kate Kelly, PYP Coordinator at Swiss International Scientific School Dubai, explains why play remains one of the most powerful ways children learn. From creativity and confidence to curiosity, resilience, and problem-solving, we explore why play belongs at the heart of education and not just on the sidelines.

We also explore whether kids today have enough time and freedom to simply be children, why boredom can sometimes be the spark for imagination, and what parents can do to create more space for meaningful play at home.
