And we're back. You're listening to IBGR, the International Business Growth Radio Network. My name is William Eastman. I'm host for the show, 1 of my favorite shows. It's on my favorite day and it's the Founders Series where I get to talk to successful, intelligent and sometimes inspiring thought leaders and business owners. And today I've got all 3 wrapped up in 1 bundle. So welcome back to the show is Ben Joya. Ben, how you doing?

Really well, Bill. And, and extra, extra better, just cause you said a lot of good things about me so thank you.

William Eastman:

Well they're true. I've got to know you well enough to know that I didn't lie with anything I said. Okay. So in the first segment if you missed the first episode or first segment What we did is we talked about Ben's story and this event coming up. And this is the podcast and book road map that's coming up on the 16th, 17th and 18th of June. And we and we provided some details, but let's really drill down. Sure. If I attend, what's going to happen? What's going to happen on the 16th?

Ben Gioia ("joya"):

So on the 16th, thank you. The 16th is the pre-event gathering. So we'll come together for about 2 hours. And you're welcome, you listener, you viewer right now, you know, you're welcome to stop by just for a minute or 2 hours if you want to. And it's an opportunity for networking to get to know other folks who are going to be part of the weekend and to start getting some questions answered and to also orient around the weekend. You know, what we're doing is we're helping people basically establish a thought leadership platform, whether it's through a book, through a podcast, through a TV talk show or all 3, depending on who you are. Right. So we're going to we're going to warm it up, so to speak, on that Friday. And then we go into the event Saturday and Sunday. That's June 17th, June 18th, 8 a.m. To 2 p.m. Pacific time. Once again, 8 a.m. To 2 p.m. Pacific time, so reasonable days. And Saturday we'll have Donna Kunde, and myself hosting throughout the day because we're the co-hosts. We have a guest speaker who's a publisher named Chris O'Byrne. He is doing some training on Saturday and he's published more than 12, 000 books, 12, 000 book titles. So he knows what, yeah, right. It's, it's really incredible what he and his company have done. So, you know, questions and understanding about the wild, wild, wild west of publishing, all can be answered and understood. Thanks to Chris. And then Sunday we continue the Grand Adventure and we have Declan Ocegera on the second day and he's teaching teaching about TV talk shows so essentially integrating video into a podcast and you know bringing your face

William Eastman:

as well as your voice to the world. Okay, so let's take Saturday. Now, Chris is gonna be talking about what specifically? Because I know 1 of the things that people have an interest in is not only how do I get the book shaped up and how I get it printed, but also interested in the distribution. So could you hit on those 3?

Ben Gioia ("joya"):

Absolutely. Absolutely. So Chris is basically going to focus on the biggest misunderstandings that people have around publishing, which will answer those 3 areas because, you know, um, what's the deal with traditional publishing, self-publishing and hybrid and what is the right choice to make, you know, 99% of the time for people like us, business owners, small business owners, speakers, coaches, consultants, leaders, right? Um, also what all is involved in the actual physical and digital production and creation of a book, right? Because there's a lot of publishers out there, not gonna name names, but there are a lot of publishers out there who provide only partial solutions. Now understand me when I say that they're providing a full solution from their perspective. They're helping folks publish their book, right? But, um, if you remember Field of Dreams, I'm dating myself here, that Kevin Costner movie, right? If you will build it, if you build it, they will come and we can refer to a podcast, refer to a book. And we say that that's absolutely not true, right? If you build it and do nothing, there will be crickets, right? In that field, right? And a lot of quiet. So whether it's a book, a podcast, TV talk show, right? That is the beginning of the adventure. And that's something that people really, really need to understand, right? That, um, there's so much more to, uh, effectively using one's book or one's podcast for the B their business and the impact that they want to make. And most of the time, the, the presentation that many publishers and book coaches and other service providers give is, hey, if you just do what I offer, it's going to cover everything. And sadly, that's not true. So we are debunking, like I said, the myths and misunderstandings about that and showing people how to make the right choices to empower them not only around their business but around the message and the impact that they want to make. Okay, and I guess with 12, 000 books published, Chris knows how he can get you exposure

William Eastman:

so people actually know your book exists.

Ben Gioia ("joya"):

Exactly, yeah. I mean, it's so cool because of, you know, the technology and the internet and many things that if you do the right things with your book, your book can be available in 40, 000 places around the world. And that that doesn't cost us an arm and a leg to do that. But you just need to know the right things to do. You know, like, don't it's it goes back to like, you know, you don't want to fix your own toilet, right? If it's in bad shape, you don't want to do your own electric because you might kill yourself. And you certainly do not want to try to do book publishing on your own, even though the term might be self publishing. You know, if you're choosing that route, I like to say non-traditional publishing because

William Eastman:

I think that speaks more to the truth of what that option is for people. Okay, so that's gonna be a great day on Saturday. Now let's go to Sunday. And with Declan Oceguera, and this conversation about TV talk shows. And let me preface this before I get into it and that is, you know, what we're seeing right now is a combination of media or mediums and there's no reason why if you are doing a live show with us that is automatically turned into a podcast with the show notes that you've written why isn't that on YouTube or rumble or wherever you're going to put the video because then you have a composite and that's really what's going on. There's a lot of short, long form shows that right now podcast that are visual. So let's talk about what's going to happen on Sunday.

Ben Gioia ("joya"):

Yeah, thank you. So Declan, like you said, will be talking about TV talk shows and a big part of that, you know, coming on video, I think for all of us, most of us, at least at some point in our lives, right? There's, If you want to call it stage fright or imposter syndrome or fear of bringing your voice forward, Declan really helps people get over that as part of what he calls the TV talk show formula. Right. So we can have all the great intentions in the world, but, you know, if you can't get yourself onto the stage or get the words onto paper, you know, or get to the, you get your voice onto the podcast, right. You're not making the impact you want to make nor creating the results you want to create and Bill, like you use the word composite, which I absolutely love. Um, and the, the, that if, if video were the top of the pyramid, right, from the video comes the audio from the video comes the show notes, right? All these kinds of things. And you can really, you know, you can put, you can put the book at the top of the pyramid if that's your first step and that's fine, right? The video, you know, it all kind of works virtuously, which is nice, But the most important part of this is that we have an opportunity, people like us, speakers, coaches, leaders, consultants, small business owners, um, that we can really scale our impact because of the technology that's, that's available to us, you know, and we don't have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to do it, nor tens of thousands of hours of time to do it, because we can really collapse time and create a whole lot of relevant, impactful, action-oriented content.

William Eastman:

Do you have any idea about what the cost on the video side is? Before I say that, let me talk about on the audio side. We have our host purchase an under $100 soundboard and about a $150 mic. So for $250, they're producing professional audio. So now let's make the leap to visual. Any estimates about what how that could be done?

Ben Gioia ("joya"):

quality, you know, whatever,:

350 bucks or less to basically take over the world. That's right. And have a professional studio. And by the way, you hit it right because we were using a camera that cost $100. Okay, perfect. And so yeah for $350 you can have a professional studio in terms of audio and visual. Yeah. Okay. Anything else going to happen on Sunday with Declan or are you and Donna now going to get involved in a kind of a close?

Ben Gioia ("joya"):

Yeah, thank you. So, so, you know, Donna and I will be teaching throughout the weekend. You know, Chris has a segment on Saturday. Declan has a segment on Sunday. And we're just continuing to help people understand, you know, this is how you bring a book forward. This is how you bring a podcast forward. You know, these are the myths and misunderstandings that stop most people and here's how to overcome them. Right. This is how we're going to talk a lot about collapsing time. Right. That idea of leveraging, you know, for example, video that turns into audio, etc. And most importantly, to remind you to remind me that, hey, we're here, We have a message, we have a story to share. And that's 1 of the most powerful things that we can offer, that I can offer, that you can offer to the world. And the playing field is now level these days. So, you know, here's all of how to do it.
