Castle Rock v Gonzalez is a landmark case, in which the government decided that police ARE NOT required to help you. In 1999 a mother had a restraining order for herself and her daughters against their father. The father kidnapped the kids, the mother contacted the police multiple times, they refused to look for the kids, and the children were killed.
