Welcome to Story River Fables (previously Waffle-Free Storytelling)

This little tale was inspired by my stay at Sherwood Forest. Been here a couple of weeks and the peace is pure delight. Trying to get through the thorny undergrowth to retrieve a blue balloon made me ask the question... Why might trees surround themselves with such a dense thicket?

Nature is a healer. Find a forest or hug a tree. Tell it your secrets. Then fill a mug, put your feet up, and join me for a mellow moment.
