Good day and thank you for joining me for another episode of Select Board

Rewind, where we look at what happens

with the select board for the town of we.

I'm Leon Goman, and I have the

pleasure and honor of being the

4

town manager for the town of we.

5

And this is what happened

6

We started off with a discussion

with the fire station working group.

7

They came in and gave a slide

presentation on what the plans

8

are and where they ended up.

9

The select board discussed it

among themselves and while they

10

took no vote on this matter.

11

They all seemed agreeable to bring

forward design fees to the maytown

12

meeting, the annual town meeting.

13

In addition, they dissolved the

working group after their service

14

and recommendation has been

completed, and they did thank them

15

all for their work on the committee.

16

And I also want to add my

special thanks to them as well.

17

It was a lot of hard work, a lot of

analysis, a lot of comments to go

18

through, a lot of things to think about.

19

I do think that the committee

did an excellent job, and I thank

20

Jim Polando and Tom Palmer for

co-chairing that effort as well.

We had a continued public hearing for

the installation of small cell equipment

22

at or about a poll near 1 21 Love Lane.

23

Unfortunately the we had to continue

that to a future meeting, and it will

24

be held at the meeting on January 27th.

We announced two things

for the town of Westin.

26

One is that the town of Westin became

a climate leader as designated by the

27

Commonwealth of Massachusetts for our

work in climate action and preparedness.

And we are very appreciative to

the sustainability committee.

29

And all the town departments that

have been involved in this effort.

I also congratulated my own staff person,

Steve Adio, for our recent award by

31

the MMA on our excellent town report.

We receive notification that next

week we will be presented with a

33

certificate of appreciation and

recognition for our excellent.

34

Town report that we did last year and

that was primarily done by Steve, and

35

we granted him credit for that work.

We then met with HYM Investment

Group who is interested in working to

37

develop a prop a assisted living center

on 300 Wellesley Street, which is.

38

Where Regis colleges the purpose for

this discussion was to introduce this

39

matter to the select board and for the

select board to refer the matter to the

40

planning board for a public hearing.

The select board.

Did meet with them.

43

There was quite a bit of discussion

including with abutters of the area,

44

and at the end of the day, they

decided to hold off on referring it

45

to the planning board so that they

could get some more information.

46

And I anticipate that the select board

will meet again with HYM Investment Group.

Probably in the next couple

of select board meetings.

Finally they met with the friends

of the JST and they met with the

49

proposed restaurateur, Brian Pacini

about the Josiah Smith Tavern Project.
