another episode of Select Board Rewind.

I'm Leon Goman and I'm the town
Manager for the Town of Westin,

and I'm here to talk to you about
the meeting that was held with the

select board on February 24th, 2026.

We started off with resident comments,
as we typically do, and a couple

of residents came forward with
a request to the select board to

:
reconsider the Concord Road Project.

Afterwards, we started a conversation
and a presentation by the open space
9
:
and recreation steering committee
who are in the process of updating

the open space and recreation plan.

The presentation was
made to the select board.

:
They answered some questions, and
I think the select board will be

:
deferring the vote on endorsing
this until their next meeting.

We then had a presentation by myself
as the town manager of the most recent

:
updated operating budget for fiscal
year:

the warrant articles that we have in
hand for the upcoming town meeting.

So if you're interested in what is
happening at the annual town meeting.

This was a good opportunity for
you to watch the meeting and get

a sense of all the articles that
are being considered at this time.

We then had a presentation about
cell towers in the town of Westin.

As you folks may know, cell coverage in
Westin has been something that has been
22
:
somewhat of a problem over the years.

We have a lot of cell carriers who have
very varying degrees of accessibility in

:
the town of Weston, and we've been working
with a consultant who is interested in.

Exploring opportunities to
site new cell towers in Westin.

That will help greatly with the
coverage gaps that we have in town.

This has been on the projects and
priorities list for the Select board

for as long as I've been here as the
town manager, the board had a lot of

good questions about the presentation.

And the next step in this process
will be to forward it to the planning

board as least as a preliminary idea
so that maybe in the fall we can

see a modified overlay district.

Then we had our friends from
Western Media come in and do a

presentation about their budget and
their needs for the upcoming year.

And we thank Western Media for all
that they do to help bring information

like this to the people of Westin.

Finally, they had a discussion
about perhaps modifying the town

manager's evaluation process.

No decisions have been
made at this meeting.

However, they are gonna discuss
this again in the next few meetings.

So if you have an interest in how the term
manager is evaluated by the select board,

then these discussions may be for you.

And then we had a consent agenda
vote and all of the consent

agenda items were approved.

I just wanna say.

One last thing that Mr.

Tom Palmer select board member announced
at this meeting that he has made the

decision not to run for reelection as
a member of the select board, meaning

that there will be three open seats for
the select board at the MAYTOWN meeting.

manager that it's been my pleasure

having worked with him for the last
three years, and I wish him well.

His future endeavors and I
thank him for his service.
