My name is Leon Goeman.

I'm the town manager for the town of
Weston, and I'm here to talk about the

select board meeting of August 11th, 2026.

We started off with a joint meeting of
the Housing Production Plan Steering
7
:
Committee, as well as the planning
board, to review the draft update
8
:
of the housing production plan.

:
They've only been working on it for a
very short period of time, and we do
10
:
appreciate all the work that the Housing
Production Plan Steering Committee has
11
:
done to get us ready for a submission.

There was a lot of discussion, a lot of
questions about the process, the plan,
13
:
what the recommendations are going to be.

:
Ultimately, the the boards, both the
select board and the planning board,
15
:
voted unanimously to submit the plan
as written to the state for their
16
:
review and their ultimate approval.

I will say that the committees are
gonna get together sometime in the
18
:
next month or two to talk about
possible amendments to the plan.

They might want to amend the plan after
the state has approved and accepted the
20
:
plan maybe adding some information, maybe
changing some of the recommendations.

Regardless the plan has been submitted
for an update to the housing production

:
plan and submitted to the Commonwealth.

We then met with the planning
representatives to talk about

:
the Riverside Housing RFP.

And for those of you who will remember,
there was a town meeting a few years

back where we went to town meeting
and sought authorization to create

:
up to twenty units of housing near
the Great Lands property where the
28
:
old Liberty Mutual building exists.

The select board was agreeable to
the RFP, and you will hear more

:
about that as the months go on.

They finally voted to approve changes to
the town manager's evaluation form at this
32
:
meeting, and they also voted or they chose
not to take any action on limiting home
33
:
delivery of cannabis-related products.

There was a change in the law that
allows that to happen and the select
35
:
board is agreeable with the law change.

And that was it.

There were no other items that were
debated or discussed or voted on at

the meeting, and this was August 11th,
