Good day and thank you for joining me for
another episode of Select Board Rewind.

I'm Leon Goman and I'm the town
manager for the Town of Westin.

And this is what happened at the
Friday, April 10th select board meeting.

It was an unusual scheduled time 'cause
there was a Friday morning at:

it was an in-person and hybrid meeting.

Of the select board, we, the primary
purpose for this meeting was to

finalize some of the plans for
our annual town meeting, which was
8
:
going to, it's going to be in May.

First order of business was a discussion
on the Capital Stabilization Fund article,

:
and there was a significant amount
of discussion among the select board,

:
including members of the finance committee
who had been also advocating for the
12
:
article after a great deal of discussion.

It was clear that the select board
required more information and
14
:
more analysis before they would be
willing to support such an article.

At the end of the discussion,
the select board voted to.

Pass over this article at
the annual town meeting.

They will continue to talk about it with
the finance committee over the next few

:
months with possibility of including this
article on the special town meeting or
19
:
subsequent town meeting down the road.

Then they spent.

Sometime meeting with the moderator,
the town clerk and town council taking

positions on articles for annual town
meeting and reviewing the motions to be

:
made and who will make the motions and
presentations for the annual town meeting.

After that they had a discussion.

The chair of the select board Lees
Rivers wanted to talk to our fellow

board members about the possibility of
creating a town wide demographic study to

:
use by multiple boards and departments.

And they've authorized me to
start looking into this for a

future discussion and a future.

Their final order of business
before reaching the consent agenda

was they did change the charge of
the traffic and sidewalk committee

in a couple of minor ways.

Essentially just removing one of
the positions to make it a five

member board instead of a six member
board which has the possibility

of having tie votes and that.
