Continuum Force, the science fiction audio drama that followed the exploits of a team of time travelers who battled aliens and shadow organizations bent on reshaping human history, is no more.
The decision to end Continuum Force was not an easy one. It’s been a tough run for the show since our last episode aired on September 8th, 2020.
Covid stopped production. Until the pandemic ended, we were basically at a standstill.
Then, due to some inappropriate conduct of one of our leads, we had to recast one of our primary characters.
The first five scripts for season 3 were written and we even completed a recording session with Richard Kingston, our new cast member, for those five episodes but we could never find the time to bring the rest of the cast together to record.
After another lead character dropped out, it was going to be tough to continue.
The final blow for Continuum Force came on December 27th, when we lost Dr. Scott Viguie.
Without Scott, who wrote some of the episodes and was a huge inspiration, and a producer on the show, we couldn’t imagine continuing on.
One cast member, we could work with that. Three? It’s a different show, and honestly, without Scott, we didn’t want to make that show.
To our loyal fans, we’re deeply sorry this has happened. I never imagined we’d leave Continuum Force unfinished. I don’t ever leave anything unfinished, to be honest.
Perhaps one day it will return, in a reboot or different form, but today is not the day for that speculation. There’s no concrete plans of anything of the sort and I don’t want to project false hope of the show returning.
We fully realize the show left on a cliffhanger. To that end, I am attaching the script to the Season 3 premiere which would resolve that cliffhanger, had we gotten the opportunity to record it.
I know it’s not the fiction podcast in all it’s glory, but it’s what we can do.
I can also tell you there will be at least one more full episode of Continuum Force. There was an episode we recorded before pandemic, called Billy Get Your Guns. It was originally planned for Season 2, but the way the narrative went, we didn’t want to lose any momentum with a one-off episode, so we moved it into Season 3.
Since it’s in a state where we can complete it, we’re going to go forward with it and release as a “Lost Continuum Force” episode dedicated to the memory of Scott.
Again, I’m sorry we’re in this situation. It wasn’t expected, nor what we wanted.
Thank you for your support.
