Transitioning to assisted living is a big undertaking. According to a 2020 survey by AARP, nearly 90% of people over the age of 65 say they want to stay in their homes for as long as possible. And 80% believe that their current residence is the place that they'll spend the rest of their life.

In this episode of Sage Aging we discussed the challenges of transitioning from home to an assisted living community and what you can do to lessen that stress.

For this episode, I was joined by Charisse Durham of Senior Living Management.  As is the case for so many, Charisse found her way to the senior living industry after her family struggled to navigate the care of her grandfather. She is dedicated to helping other families avoid the same struggles by providing resources and education about their senior living options and how to best advocate for themselves and their loved ones.
